ok i just took my exhaust off my bike, to see if it was retricted or not in the exhaust, i checked and its clear its derestricted (no restricotrs form what i coudl see were in there) i stuck it back on (with some difficulty) and i am now paranoid that i have put it on wrong, what should i check for that wodul indicate i did it wrong?
p.s there was a ring that fell out when i took the pipe off is there a specific way round this shoudl be put bakc on coz i just put it back on without realyl noticing the differece in sides.
p.s again... i still need to check the carb for a restriction but what woudl cause 6th to be very low on revs? it loses power the minute i hit 6th gear, i.e in 5th i coudl be at 70mph, move up to 6th and it has to drop to 60, 6th will nto do any higher thatn 60mph.

so your bike is fully restricted , probably it's an import and you still have the restrictor plate behind the carb . you are restricted also on electronics . can you take a picture of your exhaust , because the genuine has no ring , it has a gasket like oval with a big hole in the middle et 1 hole at each end . if it is , no matter in which way you fiited it . just want to add , on import nsr the exhaust restrictor is inside de pipe (about 8 inches deep) and need a cut down to take it off then resoldering .
to understand all of this download my file https://www.geneva-racing.com/~alains/NSRtips.doc
