Hi All

I previously placed a topic asking for help with what i thought was a CDI problem, But after looking at my machine closer i am not certain what the problem is now, Many thanks to 1) Finpos 2)Tribal_Tiger and 3)Zorgman for thier advice and help.  :)

The symptoms are Simply no Spark, When the plug is removed and placed against the engine i crank over the electric starter, there is a weak spark when the starter initially turnes over then nothing.

I have checked over the wiring under the seat, tank and in the head light looking for shorts but all seems intact with no wiring worn through.

I am now wondering if it could be the coil, or even the rectifier. :?: The machine has been in a dealer's workshop for the last six weeks and they failed to find the problem 8O i charged the battery over a 24Hr period on a trickle charge so i know its not that.

My e mail address is gwynflyn.skelton@btinternet.com if you would like to reply to that and the forum.

I am now desperate as the nice weather is almost upon us and would like to ride in the sunshine instead of cold icy conditions.

Regards To all FBS

Well

what machine is it?

I found this malfunction stylee was down to a faulty low tension winding on one of my coils (my bike being a inline 4 using wasted spark has two twin lead coils)

To avoid the whole problem, do the following YOURSELF. A dealer will charge you an arm and a leg and its NOT hard.

With the aid of a wiring diagram, get some 8amp automotive wire, and replace all the wiring to and from the coil(s).

Replace the coils, leads and caps with new items.
