Honda LS125R worth the risk ?

I've been looking for a bike to use to help me through my test & to ride for a few months after .
Came across a LS125R for sale in my budget but from what i've read up the parts are hard to find for these bikes.

Just wondering if anyone knows any sites/dealers that can supply parts .
Other than this bike there aren't many others i can afford or travel to in Newcastle .

BTW would probably only use the bike for around 6 months before upgrading to something larger

i had one. you can bodge other parts onto it if you crash. but dont buy it unless it is dirt cheap. it is nigh on impossible to sell them.

buy a CG125 to learn on. they are better bikes or that task.

Closest CG to me is 42 miles away for £800

The LS i can get for £1200 in mint condition - 1300 miles on it

ATM there isn't much for sale around the £1000 mark near me - i've spent the last fortnight looking for a bike and haven't come up with anything .
My test should be around the start of june and i really wanted a bike to practice with - its just not the same practicing clutch on an auto

you'll be lucky to get £800 back when you come to sell it. even if its 100 miles later. i wouldnt buy one unless its £500 or less. they aint worth the hassle of resale. took me 3 months to get shot of mine. and i took a 65% loss through 1 years depreciation!!!!

wait for some other bike.....any bike.

rxs 100, cg, hyosung, anything you can afford apart from that.

also if you'll be upgrading, dont bother spending all your money on it. buy an old banger or something. this of course an opinion, but i wish i hadnt spent so much on my smaller cc bikes.

if you just want a bike to get thropugh your test have a look on ebay for cg125 or simalar, i got mine from ebay 500 quid almost mint cond with 12000 miles which is nothing for one of those. and i actually made a small profit when i went to sell it on ebay 6 months later.

DONT GET A LS125R

I have one myself cracking bike just goes and goes only 1 problem
i crashed a month back and it STILL isnt fixed you cant get parts anywhere ive managed to get a couple of 06 cbr parts to fit but that about it its looking like its going to the scrap yard and ive only had it 3 years and it cost 1700


get a cg or a chinky hondou crosser to learn on the valuse wont go down to much when you come to sell

I went to Bournemouth for my bike, from Edinburgh

Loads of CG's available, I think they look a bit plain though... Looking at the style of an LS125, the last thing you'll want is a CG I'd imagine.
