130mph, 60bhp, nearly as light as an NSR. I love these bikes, the powerband and I love the sound of a 2 stroke. I can imagine pulling up next to boy racers who think you're on a bike with a moped engine then u totally obliterate them
Not the most reliable bike, needs regular ring changes or top end rebuilds. Worth it though |

The earlier ones were 128kg and 50bhp, the later ones were 138kg and 55bhp. To put that in perspective Aprilia RS125's weight about 140kg . I don't know how they do it, apart from the lack of undertray and the kickstart.
I went out for a ride with Mike on his same year 89' CBR600 a few weeks ago and in a straight line there wasn't anything in it, though say from 80mph he tended to pull away a slight touch to begin with as he could just twist the throttle and I had to stamp down 2 gears. My Rgv's light weight was definitely an advantage on the Horseshoe pass though.
Your mate definitely won't have any problems keeping up, Rgv's will stay with anything as long as the road isn't too straight. Make sure he uses fully synthetic 2 stroke, changing the gearbox oil every 2000 miles is a good idea otherwise the gearchange gets a bit stiff. He definitely wants to get a manual as they require a lot of maintenance, unfortunately you can only get official Suzuki workshop manuals and they cost £43 . It's worth checking the powervalves are set correctly once he's got one, they're probably out of adjustment by now. |

Yeah Hex i'm in Bristol at the moment but i'll probably be back home early June so i'll be around then .
On another note I had my insurance renewal yesterday - £300 tpft @19! And I haven't even told them about my Thatcham approved security yet. Bet it'll double if I move it to pikey Bristol though . |

It does look kinda like a mini tl1000s at the moment. I've had that dodgy panel resprayed, just need to get a suzuki sticker and it'll be good as new. Fresh rebuild, uk speedo and cdi, DEP pipes, x-ring chain, new rear, always run on fully-synthetic - you must admit it sounds tempting! |

Probably a 400/4, its not like I need anything faster at the moment. I quite fancy riding down to Europe this summer and the rgv's seat ain't best suited . |

It's a 17(seventeen) litre tank, does around 25-30mpg. It has a big reserve though(and you need it ). |
