been polishing my rearsets up plus going to do other things, i got the polishing kit from thepolishingshop.com and i also bought some belgom alu is this the right stuff to use for the final finish or do i need belgom chrome?
basically will it scratch it or polish it up?
i dont want to try it as its took me long enough to get it as it is so don't want to ruin it.
cheers

Belgom Alu is a lot finer than Autosol, but I'd check a very small area first to make sure it doesn't mark your polished bits.

Even putting a soft cloth of newly polished bits is enough to scratch them!!

Hope you are going to lacquer them ... otherwise you'll be doing a lot of polishing throughout the year!!

All the best ... Barry

cheers mate, i know its alot finer but just thinking if it has grit in it as its for aluminium adn will take off the mirror finish, and i was supposed to get the chrome one.
it has a wax in it as well which protects it but i know i'll have to keep them shiney Very Happy

It's more of a chemical cleaner than an abrasive one as far as I remember ... you'll still have a really good finish ... just maybe not as good as the mirror polish!!!

Also, as you state it leaves a coating behing which'll protect the finish.

Try it on a hidden bit first, that way you can see how it turns out.

All the best ... Barry
