Tip: Don't bother. I had one when I was 16. it was slow, boring and rubbish. Wait until you're older and spend your money on a bigger and faster bike.

Tuning a 50 is just like throwing money into a fire.

True! i learned on one decades ago, just reached 30mph Rolling Eyes . I worked and worked on the engine and spent hundreds on it (alot of money back then). It worked I managed 35mph one day. Thumbs Up

I'm sorry to say that the MT5's are a bit slow, i had a couple of mates in the early days, one with an MT5 and the other with a DT50 and they were constantly trying to get them to go faster.

The DT did quite well eventually but the MT5 didn't do too well at all.

I reckon you should get the most out of your bike as it is, learn how to carry some momemtum and try and have fun, whilst doing that look for something that will be a little faster.

Do you have any pictures of it in its restored state? wouldn't mind seeing a blast from the past

As whats already been said, I got a big bore kit from M and P when i got mine a few years ago, only because the current bore was knackered and it worked out the same to get a big bore kit as it did to get it rebored. I didn't really give any more speed, think maxed out about 40mph.

Just accept it for what it is, a 50cc moped, but a stepping stone to greater things, save your money.

Have fun

Honda H100 engines fit straight in. There you go, it's now as fast as pretty much any 50.
