I have been shopping about for bike insurance, and somehow BENNETTS have come out cheapest!!! Im sure this is the first time they have quoted me less than 10 grand.

Anyway, they dont include legal cover, injury and all that shit.

Legal cover is available for 25 quid extra.
Im not too fussed tbh i'd rather save my money but i dont entirely know what its for.

Eg. If i dont have it and get knocked off and the guy in the car is like like 'your fault mate.' am i fucked or can i still claim off his insurance?

Get it!

My insurance is a total mess at the moment, and having the solicitors on hand is a life saver

Nice Bike !!

I've got the same bike and the cheapest quote for me was from Bennetts, but when i compared the cover to Ebike i took out the cover with them as it included legal cover and homestart breakdown all for £164

Surprisingly, Bennetts have turned out to be one of the cheapest for me on a couple of occasions, they insured me on my 50 for a good price and included legal cover as well. On a good day, they can be quite reasonable. Thumbs Up

Everyone says ebike is cheap but they wanted 380 quid and they dont do phone quotes.
Bennetts is 150 + 25 quid legal if i choose to get that. Still not a bad price but the excess is 400. TPO is 140 which is an option.

Any other good ones? I think ive tried most.

Nearly 12 months ago I was reversed over in a carpark by some fat dobber in a 206. She admitted liability at the scene and everything was very nice.

So far her and her suprise witness have been fighting against me getting my bike fixed, all of which has been handled by the solicitiors. This includes sorting out any claims, injury claims, paperwork etc etc. For the 25 quid I think its worth having, considering my insurance company would have died on its arse and give in. I would have been left with a smashed bike and personal injuries plus a loss of no claims. Imagine if I had been seriously injured?

On another note I receieved some rather threatening letters off the oppositions solicitors that would have had me worried if my solicitor wasnt on hand. All this for 600 quids worth of damage to a bike and a fat lying bitch.

Pay the 25 quid, it might just be money in the bank if the shit hits the fan. Thumbs Up

Thanks for the advice Villers i think ill go for it.

Bennyboy, can anyone use BLD? Surely thats just my legal cover but free? As i will only really need legal cover in the event of a claim. So whats the point in paying?

When i was 16 i didnt have legal cover, didnt really think about it or get it offered. Could of been due to me being on a 50cc scooter

Anyways, bitch went into the back of me, and my local garage advised me of bikers legal defence. They get their revenue from the hire bike apparently, and won everything for me. In both accidents i got good money for the damage to bike and gear and also compensation for injuries.

I advise them to anyone without legal cover

They are only available though if fault has been recognised and you are definately in the right.

Cheers

cant be bothered to read replies but this is my opinion. bearing in mind i work in insurance and on this matter, i represent the views of most if not all of my colleagues.

ALWAYS TAKE LEGAL COVER. YOU ARE A FOOL IF YOU DONT.

If you dont take it. do me a favour, when your claim goes pair shaped and the claims person says "you need legal cover for that". dont go mad at them, or the sales people who sold the policy. or customer service. just take yourself to a quiet corner and write 500 lines saying "i must always include legal cover on my motor policy, it is worth the money"

saying that, you should pay no more than about £20 or they are ripping you off.

I think Ebike is better for the younger rider who wants a fast bike, am I correct?

Example: Ebike does my insurance on a rs 125 for £595 or somthing like that and bennetts will do mine for £800 ( and thats even after I been with them for a year already on my moped )

I'm currently taking a driver to court because he knocked me off and is refusing to accept responsibility.

Without legal cover I'd be a bit stuffed.

You'd be an idiot not to take legal cover.
