What a great day yesterday was! I had a meeting arranged in Sevenoaks for 10:30am and decided I might as well go on the Tuono and give it a real ride rather than it's usual commute and then I could ride up to work in London after the meeting. The meeting didn't finish until 12:30 so I rang the office and said I would go home and work from there. Three hours later I finally got home....

I took the chance to stop at Red Dog motorcycles in Edenbridge https://www.reddogmotorcycles.co.uk and had a look at an MV Brutale, the Moto Morini Corsaro, and they even had a 2nd hand Benelli TNT. All very, very pretty bikes but pretty expensive price tags as well and I would worry myself silly that some little ditbag would steal it when it was parked in London.

The owner of the shop was a bit distracted and I found out that a customer had taken one of his bikes out for a test ride (I think he said an SPS or an MV Augusta) and a lorry had knocked him off as he was going under a bridge. The lorry pushed him into the side of the bridge, luckily the rider was not badly hurt. However the lorry then ran the bike over effectively destroying it. It also turned out that it was a bike the shop was selling on behalf of the owner and not owned by them, oops, glad I didn't have to make that phone call.

I said I would come back for a test ride at another time!

I carried on ripping round Kent and Sussex and ended up at Bikersworld in East Grinstead. As they had a new 2006 Tuono demonstrator available it seemed rude not to give it a test ride... It was fitted with Arrow slip ons which sounded great. I was very tempted to do a deal especially as he was offering new models at a very good price, but he only had a silver one and I want to see a black one in the flesh (so to speak). Currently there is a 6 week delivery wait.

Finally got home with a nice selection of Spring flies all over my helmet - a much better day than working! I'm so glad I run my own business.

Self-employment rules.

While you were all slaving away in your offices, I got on my bike and mooched down to Stonehenge. Then came back again cos it was crawling with tourists and rape seed makes me sneeze. Rolling Eyes

It's not all bad for us office types. I rode to work and, as where I work overlooks part of Poole beach, I went for a paddle at lunchtime!

A very nice day indeed!
