I used to ride a honda varadero 125, which at the time was in perfect condition. Dodsi spent all day being an idiot, complaining about me and prox not having big bikes, and trying to shoot my air rifle at lamposts etc.

I said i was looking at getting an ER-5 like dodsi was riding at the time. He let me have a go but went on for ages about how if i broke it I had to pay for it, and that I wouldnt be able to handle it since I only had a 125. Understanding this I had a little go up and down my street on his bike, treated it well and brought it back.

When i got back he was sat on my Varadero and then rode off redlining it down the street clearly going far too fast for a housing estate, treating the bike with no respect whatsoever.

We were talking on my drive joking about the fact that he might have crashed because he had been taking ages.
When he arrived back there were huge scratches down one side of the bike, brake lever bent, forks slightly bent, exhaust scratched etc.

Dodsi made a huge fuss, compalined loads about his boot being scuffed, then expalined that he lowsided on a corner as a car pulled out. The woman stopped the car but he had failed to get any details from her, or even noted the registration. He promised to pay for the damage as soon as he could afford it.

After months of asking excuse after excuse i never got the money for it. I paid for the panels from david silver spares and repaired the damage myself. (costing me about £150 excluding the hours i spent sorting it) Even when it was repaired it was never as good as it had been.

Funnily enough while Dodsi was pleading poverty I saw him not long afterwards on a new bandit, and subsequently hes had 2 zx6r's. Hes been avoiding me since.

since its been about a year, and it doesnt look like hes going to pay me, what would you do?

I'd demand payment or his bike if that was me.

Only people that can afford to repair my bike and trust deeply can ride my bike.

If he doesn't pay up and you want to stay legit, use the small claims court. If not, go round, rip the fairings off his Kwak and sell them on EBay.

Hey.

Let the other party speak before we make judgements, eh peeps?

It was my understanding that you made complaints to dodsi about the incident (Which I remember him talking about a while back) but never actually demanded the money from him, which he seemed willing to cough up. Purely what he said although we never talked about the matter again.

Could be a case of "oh yeah, time to sell my bike, better ask him for the money to fix her up then" in which I think would be a smidgen unfair (financial positions change after time as we all know)

And I'll clear up one point, only because I know it's true - Dodsi buys his bikes very cheaply and makes money on them when he comes to sell them. That is what I do as well. By doing this it does NOT imply that he has a lot of money.

Does it? I sure don't. Sad

I'm not defending anyone here although it may sound different - I'm sitting on the fence, telling you how I understand the situation is.

I most definitely asked him for the money, for ages, he kept saying he'd get a tax rebate and he would pay me out of that.

The last time I saw him in person, Proximity was waiting for me on a motorway roundabout. Co-incidentally Dodsi was there, talking to Prox and as I arrived he rode off into the sunset without saying a word.

Tom and goldenboy aren't on msn at the moment, so that would explain thier lack of comedy participation in this thread.

I guess we'll have to watch this space...

It doesn't sound like the sorta thing dodsi would do, having met him I never had him down as that type of guy.
Will be interesting to hear his side of the story.

A couple of weeks ago I saw him at the Sun Inn near Harrogate.
There wasn't a cash machine in sight so I lent him a tenner.
He paid me back within the hour and bought me a coke (diet) out of that tenner IIRC. Thumbs Up

I also know he stuck a fiver of petrol in phanny's tank the other week, if thats anything to go by. Thumbs Up

Time will tell, but I can see where this thread is going....straight to F&FW
