Urgent !! well to me anyways

I have a friend..a fellow biker ..who needs your help.

He was a biker for the last 15 or so years, but due to him moving house he had to sell his bike...

anyways..he wants to buy another bike..but he needs 1 desperate as his insurance NCD will expire at the end of MAY (valid for 2 years before reset)...and he really would like any bike NON exspencive..or just a log book too keep the insurance NCD valid.

Any help...any bike sat in the garage in bits..etc.

Two people can insure the same bike.

Presuming he's not going to make a claim (which would get him done, possibly), there shouldn't be a problem.

it is technically illegal to have 2 insured interests on 1 vehicle....

....that doesnt mean it doesnt happen.....
as long as he doesnt claim, you'll be fine as G said

dunno, just what ive been told (at work, in training. considering im in insurance, i kinda took it as gospel truth)

there is definately some legislation somewhere on home insurance making it illegal. i believe it to be the same on cars, but have never been shown legislation. cannot be bothered to look for it either tbh, as it really isnt THAT important Laughing

Can't he just insure a fictional bike?

I'll be insured on my new bike from tuesday even though I won't have the V5 till Wednesday.

He will never claim on it, and can just transfer it to a real bike when he buys one.

He just wanted a real bike..you know one thats not illigal or made up..he would of prefured a V5 and chassis..but now he want a real fully up and running bike..but he can't afford £1000 onwards for the CG125 bikes...i think he will find something..i bet his Mrs will give in ...he was looking at the Triump speed 4s.

Cant he insure your bike, and then put you as the second rider? or dont you get any NCB even lough your riding it...?

I think he isnt sure himself..he wants..a bike...but at the moment he is better off just buying a wreck..and insuring it for 1 month or so than sell it on again...lol

He is really itching to get a bike...but he cant justify spending money.. Rolling Eyes

Then why can people be insured TPO to ride other people's bikes on their insurance? Surely that would be illegal? Then wouldn't the insurance companies not be allowed to offer that?
