Been offered a CBR1100 in candy blue, for £3750 on a w plate. Comes complete with oxford pannier bags and a new unused tank bag. All matching.

Remus cans and standard with straight down pipe already fitted.
Helmet and waterproofs’ as well.

The bike is in good condition with some small marks that are being fixed (need seat and front fender due to recovery people braking)

The only main things that he said were it caught on fire when the rectifier went but all stuff replaced, and the membrane in the hydraulic clutch was replaced.

What you think?

CBR1100 mate. Wink

Sounds like it could be a bit of a gamble unless you know what you're looking at.

Hmmm, personally, I think it's a bit pricey mate.

£3750 for a 7 year? old bike thats been on fire, and has no seat or mudguard. Confused

As far as the bike goes, thay are cracking machines. Bit on the porky side and poor ground clearance but they are great fun and can go 2up 160+ no problem.

The cans are good, i wouldn't be too bothered about the luggage though, Oxford stuff is ok but if you are planning on touring get a rack and some boxes, makes things much easier.

Helmet...no chance, waterproofs, if its an oversuit that fits, then maybe keep that.

£3750 is a lot of money. factor in the cost of repairs and insurance and it soon adds up.

If your heart is set on a XX save £500 more and get a real nice one.
£4500 would get you a minter.

I think you'll find that the wiring loom on the 1999-2001 model was suspect and HONDA extended the warranty for it by a further 3 yrs.

The problem lies with the connector block behind the nearside side panel below the seat.

Join www.superblackbird.co.uk and look in the 'HELP' forum re wiring looms rotting, melting and being a pain in the ass.

My advice is to walk away from this bike........!

Ricks bike is a later model which didn't suffer this problem.

Mine was fine for the 3 years i owned it but i'm glad i got without before it corroded the loom.

Sounds way too dear to me, I'm sure you'll get a whole one for less money elsewhere.

thought you had a new kid and needed a new car?

Surely something a bit cheaper and easier to fix yourself (ie carbed, common, and easy to get bits for) is in order?
