40mm socket ?

Hey does anyone know where i can come across a 40mm socket, im from the newcastle area so any shops ect would be great, also it needs to be able to cope with being used on an impact gun,

I got a 36mm impact socket from Halfords, may be worth a look.

I got a 3/4" set from ebay for about £35 all in - this included about 20 sockets from 19 to 50mm, as well as appropriate ratchets etc.
I wanted a breaker bar style thing anyway as well as a 32mm socket - came out about the to get this as to get the two individual items.

I do already have a 1/2" -> 3/4" convertor, though.

Get a 1/2" drive and sockets for anythink over 22-24mm as 3/8" will not take the stress.

Have a look at www.cromwell.co.uk They are a massive tool distributor and I have checked that they have a branch near to you, there is one in Gateshead. I buy a fair few bits and bobs off them here in the Midlands and they sell just about any size/style socket you could possibly want (all at reasonable prices too). They will certainly be able to supply you with a 40mm impact socket. Don't forget though that a socket of that size will be at least 3/4" drive, so if you are using 1/2" drive ratchets etc you will need an adapter. Anyway their paper catalogue is a lot easier to look through than their web site so don't be disillusioned and I have always found that they are very helpful over the phone.

By the way, what the hell do you need a 40mm socket for? Thinking

Halfords go up to 42, i think i went there the other day and they deffinatle had a 38 and 40 mm ones.

I've just looked and there are a few on ebay. I searched for '40mm socket' and it a found a few, in particular from the ebay shop sellers.
