Proper leather cleaners are best, but water works well to. Use a kitchen roll, soak a tissue and lay it over the flies. After a minute or two their bodies soften and come off easily.

Every couple of weeks, but I prefer my leathers to look tatty anyway.

; great fun, that. The best thing to do is get bugs off as soon as you stop (only takes a minute); this applies to helmet, visor and other gear equally. It's a hassle, but worth it.

If you cba/forget/whatever, do as mentioned above: soak them in warm water with a kitchen-towel or j-cloth for a minute, then just pick them off. Don't try to scrape them off dry... they are more likely to take half the leather with them that way than come off nicely (it's the bugs revenge for being squashed at unholy speeds, I think).
