I've just bought that ER5 I was banging on about ages ago. The previous owner declared it SORN. It's still got a tax disc on it which is valid untill September.

Does anyone know how to declare it back on the road? The previous owner mentioned we could get some form of rebate on it.

Thanks.

To declare it back on the road just take the MOT certificate, V5 (if you only have the new owner bit thats fine) and statement of cover (insurance) down to the post office and get yourself a new tax disc, only take s a few mins to do. I thought it would be a lot of hassle when I did mine last year but its dead easy.

As I understand the regs, the vehicle is either taxed or off road (SORN) - you can't have both.

Does the tax disc on the bike have the correct reg. no.? Embarassed

A call to DVLA might help to clarify the position.

Be carefull about applying for a refund on the current disc as the previous owner might end up getting it. Evil or Very Mad
