I got my NSR to backfire, with nice little flame out the back of it Very Happy Took quite a bit of trying, but it will do it. Rev the bollocks off it, dip the revs, kill switch, then rev some more, dip revs, kill switch back on, then rev it again. Do it all very quickly Smile

Bouncing it off the redline should produce the same effect as flicking the killswitch (just much more rapidly) as all it's doing is cutting the spark. Mine burbles and pops when i decelerate which is fun, especially in 1st gear through the high street.

To do good backfires on 600 4... I find it usually best to be decelerating under engine braking, from about 8-10k.. flip the kill switch off for a second, then on again..longer=bigger bang.
It helps if you have a metal exhaust.
