Do you know what would be really funny!?

If Scotland didn't even qualify but still drew attention to that fact by bitterly attacking Englands chances!

Oh hang on:

I like the way the Taffs and the Jocks hate England, but the English couldn't give a fuck about them...

Where is Wales anyway, didn't they used to sell us coal or something?

We printed a load of world cup posters to go in pubs around the country, you might have seen one
"the only shirt to be seen in" is the catchline.Basically you can win an England shirt if you buy a pint of fosters.
However for the scottish market we have printed another poster which allows our caledonian cousins to swap their England shirt for a swedish one Very Happy
Bless 'em.

I can feel the jealousy, even from this distance! Laughing Maybe you can pretend it's a UK team instead of England and then you'll have a chance of winning something! Wink

I heard Al Murray aka The Pub Landlord on the radio the other day, he came out with a quote something like this;

"A English man invented football. So even if we lose a game we're English, every time someone kicks a ball we're winners."

Rather just add to your sporting wooden spoon collection then?

Come on now it's been over 700 years, can't we just let it lie? Wink

Whats the logic in saying that ? you tried to qualify, you didnt because you got beat by a lot better teams yet you say its better to not qualify! so why did they bother trying?
I spose if you had of qualifyed (which i wish you had on a side note)
you would be saying how great it is that Scotland got into the finals?
Trying is better than just saying i,m glad we didnt even if you dont do any good at least you tried.

Yeah right!

"We got humped by everyone in the qualifiers, but we could have got through - we just didn't want to!" Laughing Laughing Liar

You know you really should concentrate on supporting your own team rather than wishing for the downfall of another! Wink

Yeah, but that is just background noise. Can't escape from it totally (and not too worried about that). Just get hacked off with the total OTT coverage when there is a major tornament.

Really dodgy when 2 of the terrestrial TV channels are showing the same match at the same time with the same camera angles.

All the best

Keith

That shouldn't happen since generally the rights to a game only go to one channel.

Doesn't mean you won't get Germany Vs Costa Rica on one channel whilst they have Trinidad & Tobago Vs Sweden on the other though... Wink

We're not good enough, simple as....at least we don't pretend we'll be world beaters everytime we enter a match......

Be thankful that chunt Rooney is out, you might actually stand a chance if he doesn't play, poor guy has everyone pinning there hopes on him.

Neither are we. There? Happy? Very Happy It's only the press that build up the England team. I expect us to falter at the Quarter/Semi-Finals in the usual fashion.

He's actually an excellent player, which guiles me everytime he pulls on a Man Utd shirt. Maybe he could play for England, score the winning goal in the final, breaking his foot again as he does it, and be injured for all of next season... Thinking

I hate the following:

Companies like McDonalds and Visa who say things along the lines of. 'Real fans, real football', or ' real fans only need apply', and then they have some clips of some fuckwits who have just come back from a Tim Henman game, with huge hats on and faces painted with a St Georges cross. Some more face painted kids, looking anxious, then a healthy dose of cross racial / gender people jumping up and down in a pub with beer spilling everywhere.

I don't know much about football but I do know that REAL fans don't paint their fucking faces. Oh, the irony.
