Ditch the Frenchie colours and thats one fab looking ZXR
I am really taken with the styling of the old girl, the only better looking Kawaski is the ZX7R, the MILF's daughter
Even though in puberty, they look damn fine

Thats a nice looking K model mate. I've got a real soft spot for the ZXR750.
I've got the pipe, but I'm keeping it, sorry.

They came with the liners. As the ZX9 engine uses removable liners you can just remove the old ones so dont need the barrells (or cylinder block as I call it). I just take the head off, barrells off, remove the liners, put the new ones in with pistons, and selotape it all back together.
I won the auction by 1p I think! They guy selling them said that the chap I beat, was straight on the phone to him offering him more! Gotta love ebay haven't ya!! |

thats looking rather nice! and as for the frenchy colours much as im patriotic to the core, i drink tea watch cricket and hate the french, the zxr does look damm nice in the frogs colours but you need to powder coat those wheels whoever fudged them up with the red spray paint has somnething to answer for! im powdercoating my road bikes ones white this summer (mainly after seeing 23windowdlx's bike!) im lagging behind you considerably on the zxr rebuild front though mines not even running yet. needs a fuel pump, and a battery before i can terrorise the other residents on the estate ____________________ nonstop unicorns vomiting sunshine pills into a rainbow toilet

I like the red mainly because its different, and means it the race version. I've only ever seen one other RR on the road.
This is one bike I'm never going to sell.
Your right about the wheels, they are crap, he got them sprayed the same colour as the bike, green / red & polished rims
I'm probably going to get a new set in green, then keep these crappy ones as spare for the track.

i think id powdercoat, or get those wheels resprayed properly, the standard paint finish on them is notorioiusly shite and chips easily (mine are flakey and rubbish) definatly a keeper of a bike though, quality machines!
tom the 750 fairings wont fit the 400, same shape yes, but bigger dimensions, and differant mouonting points/ cutouts there was a 400 done in the kawasaki france colours though, think it might have been the sp version? ____________________ nonstop unicorns vomiting sunshine pills into a rainbow toilet

I swapped it for my ZXR750L1 which was in good working order. The guy had it sitting in his garage for over a year with the engine damage.
I love rare bikes so was happy to do a straight swap.
I picked up a spare complete engine (with knackered 2nd gear) for £30, so used the pistons, barrells and head from that engine onto the M2's engine, but put the race cams from the M back in.
I do all the work myself, so, so far its cost me around £100 in parts (gaskets, oil, filter etc..). £80 for the Yoshi pipe and £30 for the engine which I actually had sitting in my garage from last year.
All in its cost me a little over £200 in parts and oil (could have bodged the old exhaust if I really wanted to), and a few hours in the evening and weekends.
So, anyone wanting any engine work doing, give me a shout |
