 |

Hi, I filled my tank for the first time, and was just trying to find out how far I can go etc etc.
I managed to get in 7.8 litres, up to the neck of the tank, bike on the side stand. Assuming the garage wouldn't have gone to any lengths to squeeze in petrol, and had topped it up after the 25 mile test ride.
It's a 2004 Suzuki GS500F
I done 111 miles - 25 = 86 miles
7.8 litres = 1.715 gallons = 50.1 mpg
So I should get about 180 miles out of a tank? (17 litres)
Have I worked this out right?

That sounds about right to me, a GS500 should bring back some decent miles. I get about 35mpg, frankly I thought I'd get more. C'est la via! |

That's great, means I can get to work an extra day before having to fillup
It's just to work out petrol Monday to Friday, mostly motorway cruising, and if I keep the speed down I should get a bit more ____________________ 2004 Suzuki GS500F > 2006 Suzuki SV650S

I wouldn't try to calculate your mpg off half a tank of petrol. A full tank will give a more accurate figure.
I just filled up with petrol on my way home from work with the trip counter showing 135 miles without having gone onto reserve. Last week I was "making good progress" everyday on my way to work, and managed only 60 miles to a tankful Gave me quite a fright as I'm used to riding a twin. ____________________ Hard livin', hard luck. |

could use this https://www.torquecars.co.uk/Tuning/uk-mpg-calculator.php
I rid ea gpz500s, my MPG varies, Gunning it off lights on a more spirited commuter drinks fuel, thrashing on a rideout gains a better mpg than a commute due to the stop start nature of commuting.
Best mpg is bimbling at constant throttle on motorway.
currently getting 54mpg out of the GPZ, that's meets at night, college and back each day. ____________________ Insta - FemFeral |
