68bhp standard he believes.... thats quite entertaining, 75 bhp with just a can is alos most entertaining!
Like his clock story as a way of explaining why you cant reach 158mph Laughing

I doubt that one would even reach 158 Kilometers per hour.

Lmao, I love the clock story. Restricted in ever gear eh. Not even sure they rev to 16 anyway Shocked not in normal circumstances at least... I believe the stock horsepower is meant to be 63bhp according to the manufacturers.
If its not a complete shit heap I'm tempted to try and have it for spares on the cheap Mr. Green if theres anything worth having off it that is.

This would easily be fixed by replacing the standard clocks, and left hand switch gear

the clock story is true. if you change the clocks to mph from kph you need a little back box, or the limiter on the jap bikes kicks in.

but the H model is not the quackiest the L models have better engins and more BHP Rolling Eyes

Oooo, my sides Laughing

Don't think even the Isle of Man 85bhp+ 400 racers approach those speeds. If only they knew the old change-the-clocks-over trick.

Jeez, that ZXR would see off my Blade.

Wrong! Razz

The H model was actually quicker than the L model in BHP terms.

hes right about the limiter they ride crap with it attached, i had to get the little black box to make it go faster. but you dont need to touch the left hand switch gear, 1t will never do 158, unless the clock is completely fu\\ed. wonder if anyone thinks that its a acropovic can, looks more like a art can with a different sticker

Hi ive got an L5 zxr import thats restricted to 33bhp. Whats the top speed and stuff with it restricted, my dads made 85 and it stops revving at 12,000, Is the little black box the one to the right behind the nose fairing or are you talking about the cdi unit. Ive just bought the cdi from a uk spec one. Any help?

33bhp = a set of washers with holes in them placed between the carbs and inlet manifold, if you've passed your 2 year probation period, just take off the carbs and pop them out.

If your ZXR is a Jap 400, it will also be restricted to 180kph (112mph). Either use the derestrictors you've mentioned or install a Motrax Speedo Convertor to give the bike its 130mph top end.

you still need to take off the electronic restricter, on mine it stops me reving past 1200 revs, where the real power is. i got the little box for 25 quid. try looking on ebay.

or for any thing else try this site, www.zxrworld.co.uk

zxr400 forum got everything you need, manuals for both models, parts books and a lot of peaple who race and ride zxr 400's somone may even have a derestricter on there thats spare. Thumbs Up

a 33bhp zxr400, will do 120mph max.... get them out and you can see 140 on the speedo..

if you change the CDI to a uk one then you dont have to bypass the clocks or get a little black box.. Thumbs Up
