HI there, I have some money comming to me soon (around 2 - 3k)
So im going for the bigger bike. I passed my full test 6 months ago and couldnt afford anything bigger than my DT125r which ive had for almost a year.

Im very interested in the Suzuki GSF 600 bandit
Ive read lots of good reviews regarding reliabality, fuel consumpition etc..

BUT, I'd rather hear it from people who own them or know someone who owns one, My insurance quotes are comming in from £590 - £700 for the 600, The 400cc is only around 50 quid cheaper insurance so i'd rather go for the 600.

They seem very reasonably priced and all the ones ive seen are good nick. As soon as I get "the" letter from my solicitor stating how much im being offered good 'ole mother said she would consider lending me it so I can get the bike asap. My bike at the minute is worth between £600 - £700, so thats the insurance paid. On www.biketrader.co.uk theres very decent bandits ranging from £1000 to £2000 of different ages

So, Info on the bandit if you have anything please


(ps. I'm also looking at the fzr 600r but the insurance is more expensive and I like the bandit better I think)

Have a good look at a second hand CBF600 as ever since the CBF1000 hit the shops earlier this year a lot of Honda dealers have them coming-out of there ears so good low mileage bargains are there to be had.

I`ve owned a 600 (97) and a 1200 (05) and they are good bikes, the 1200 inparticular is a great laugh.

But the Bandit6 vs the Hornet6 is a no brainer, the Hornet wins every time for me.

My mate owns one, and i genuinely like riding it, even compared to my ZX6R, it feels full of character.

The CBF600 is not the Hornet, the Hornet is the CB600.

The CBF probably is a lot like the Bandit, though I have never rode one. Actually thinking about it got a feeling it isn't quite as good.

The Hornet has the same engine as the CBF600...and 98 horses..and one hell of a big smile

Choose the bikes you like...then do a search on Google and see what other riders think of them..then u know there is no bias to any perticular bike.

Then decide if you can afford the one you want.

Well the info i gave was given to me by the Suzuki dealer themselves..when i bought the Hornet from them..as the 54 plate Hornet was the same price as the 06 Bandit 650..strange hey

I didnt say Bandits were bad..i just said they werent the same..

I've got the bandit 600 R plate, tis a good bike but with budget suspension. Seat heights good if you're over 6'. Lots have been tweaked and blinged (if that's your thing) try and go for standard as possible if you do get one! - my insurance was £450 TPFT and after 2 years dropped to £192. The simple answer is to test ride back to back - say Hornet and bandit to see which you prefer. There's good and bad things about all bikes and remember these are just individuals opinions and not gospel.

The 600 Bandits after the year 2000 are lower than the earlier models.

Aren't the new bandit 650s lower BHP as well ? what've they done to them ? guessing emissions
