Now then, Im not normaly the sort of bloke to crap on about my life on the net but I bloody pleased with myself : Embarassed .

I am building a very large workshop in the garden so when putting the roof I have a view over the cul-de sac.

I first heard a terrible scream from the house across the road and the woman stood on the doorstep with a totally lifeless baby Crying or Very sad
She then approached next doors house with the little body in her arms, you can imagine the state she was in.

Now I had got down (actually fell down the fukin ladder Shocked ) and rushed into next doors house,
The baby was lifeless, she was very purple, no pulse, eyes had rolled .

I grabbed her off her mum and started cpr, nothing, i then hit the poor tot in the middle of her back (had her turned upsde down) .
Checked her passage- way but nothing seemed to work.

Started more mouth to mouth and kept pressing her little chest with my elbow.

A large amount of fluid came out of her mouth and she then gasped and slowley came back to earth and life..

Cool Cool Cool Cool .

Ambulance and paramedics now burst in and take over Wink

So Im pretty emotional right now, this happened about 5 hours ago but my mind feels disturbed Mad

Lilly May is now Bournemouth General for a few days, she is saying daddy, she has not regained her sight as yet but Im told this is often the case.

So thats about it, I certainly would not like to have to do this sort of thing again soon , it messes with your emotions !!!.

Now i really didnt put this post up playing the hero, im not that type of fella, i just needed to post and clear my mind.

Has anyone else on hear felt really mentally drained and disturbed from a experience like this

Question Pass the Valium please

That would be natural I suppose.

Well done for doing what you did, not alot of people would have taken the responsibility or have had the balls to, shows there is a little faith to be had in humanity afterall.

Well done. Thumbs Up Karma

Thumbs Up Not a lot else I can say really.

Do remember that anyone who has been resusitated is still extremely ill. My thought are with the baby and I hope she recovers, but whatever remember you did your best. Try and find out what happens, resolution either way can help.

Well done mate Smile

I pulled someone who was unconscious from a burning car a few months back, and I was totally and utterly drained afterwards. Odd feeling.

Lets hope the baby is told when she grows up that she was saved by a nice bloke across the street Smile

Great stuff mate, well done. Once you've gotten over the mental stuff, you'll be left with the pride of knowing you saved a life, and even better you can watch that life grow up.

Well done. Thumbs Up

Well done. But don't go to the Royal Bournemouth to visit, because they don't have any paediatric wards there - they transfer them all to Poole.

Awesome thing to do... you just returned to someone their only chance at life which, I think it's probable to say, they otherwise would have lost if it weren't for you.

Well done! Thumbs Up

Thank you all for your messages, things seem far more calm and in prospective after a few hours rest .

Very good news Thumbs Up Lilly May has regained some sight, she has full movment in all her limbs . I really dont know about medical matters but have been informed that she has a long way to go.

Strange as it may seem I did a first-aiders course only last week !
Without it i really would not had the confidence or knowledge to get stuck in and I can tell you babys sick and vomit is Sick not reccomended Very Happy

I had to do it because my work involves working on-site in teams of more then three.

The bloke that was ment to do it was off on the sick so I had to take his place.

We start on a new contract on Monday in Kilbern Hospital London (commercial flooring). so im pretty pleased my services should not be needed for a while !

Cheers for all the Karma Thumbs Up By putting up this post, if just one person that reads it does a first- aid course I would be more than pleased .

Off to B&Q in a bit so i can finish putting the roof up on my new bike workshop.

Will probably start a new thread later on "show me your workshop / garage" mines a damm fine one if >>>> If I ever finish the bloody thing Razz
