In a couple of hours, Yoko, Davo, Joe and me are heading up to Snetterton for a trackday tomorrow. The first time nerves are starting to kick in. I'm sure I've got everything I need (well, not that sure really Confused ) I can't bloody wait! Very Happy

I've got the old butterflies as well Laughing

Need to pop down to B&Q to get some bits and bobs to finish the bike off.

Bugger, how do I get there with no bike? Laughing

Butterflies are quite natural, when I did my first track day I was trembling whlist sitting in the pit lane to go out on the sighting lap.

After a couple of sessions you'll kick yourself for not having done it sooner.

Just have to pray for nice weather now.

I presume you have checked that it's ok to sleep there?

I'd be tempted to still take a tent if you're not. Shouldn't be nearly as bad this time of year, but I found out that even in a tent, the Snet pit garages aren't massively windproof - discovered in the middle of february.

Have fun, that's the most important thing. Ignore what everyone else is doing on track (to a degree) and concentrate on enjoying things. You won't be the fastest, and you won't break lap records so don't even try - it'll end in tears! Just relax and have fun. And post some pictures tomorrow!

Yeah, went really well, happy to report the curse didn't raise it's head for the BCF lot, although there were plenty of crashes (mainly from the advanced lot).

I'm sure the others guys will report in tomorrow on their experience.

Keith, how are you getting on with the 1D?

I noticed some sensor dirt on some of the smaller aperture pics. I'm having the same problem with my 30D. Evil or Very Mad

Hi

To be honest, not too well. Way too many are coming out not sharp enough. One problem is that being a 1.3 crop factor rather than a 1.6 you need to use a longer lense, which (especially with the extra weight) makes camera shake more of a problem.

The head on shots were taken with the 20D, and there is dirt on the censor on that which I need to clean. Have to check the 1D.

All the best

Keith

Think I would have sent the 1D back by now to have it tested.

Hi

It can certainly take sharp pictures. Just it is a pig for panned shots. Check the centre of this shot.

All the best
