if you buy an FI International restrictor kit it has to come through a dealer and they have to fit it. nothing stoping you buying a second hand kit/making your own.

anyone on here with a 33bhp restrictor insured with "ebike insurance"? i wonder their stance on whether a signed dyno print would be proof of a restrictor, or that £200 certificate...

if they'll accept a dyno print, then where would it be possible to buy a restrictor kit for a 1989 NC23 cbr400?

FI International like to sell themselves as the only legal way to restrict your bike, not true.

All the police (if you get pulled) or your insurer (if they ask) require is a dyno print out showing 33bhp.

Any dealer that does restrictions will be able to get you a restrictor kit for that bike mate as they all come from the same company www.fiinternational.com who make restrictors for pretty much every bike.

Any old garage will be able to order and fit you one, its costs between 150-200 quid for it all, insurance dont really go into things like proof of restriction till u have the accident and all police want is the restriction certificate or dyno printout.

I have just bought a 1995 honda vfr400 nc30 and i need to restrict it to 33bhp for the silly UK law. The cheapest way to do this is to buy and fit the washers myself as its fairly simple. Then a dyno printout will prove that the bike puts out less than 33BHP, this is still legal too.

BUT WHERE CAN I BUY THE WASHERS???

You might find it tricky to buy ones with both the correct outer diameter and the correct size hole. But they wouldn't cost much to get made at a backstreet machine shop if you could find the right dimensions.
