Hello

I passed my theory today, whoot.
I was looking into booking the practical A2 test, and i managed to find one for the 16th at 8am! (today is the 15th).

So over joyed i start filling out forms online.. Get so far into the process and then wonder... Is there a hirebike included? Because at the moment i don't have one suitable for use on the test...

It didn't say anywhere on the DVLA's website.... just wondering if anyone knows if the test fee which is an extortionate £58 includes a bike to do it on?

Thanks for your time/ help.

Nope, £58 gets you an examiner that follows you for 40 mins and tells you where to go.

If you need to borrow a bike to do it, try a riding school.

BTW grats on passing the theory.

Nope, that's only the examiners time and "admin fees" covered. You have to provide your own "suitable" bike. If you turn up on the wrong kind of bike, you will not be allowed to do the test and you will lose your test fee. Yes, it is extortion Smile.

Have a chat with a training school in your area; you should probably look into having at least one or two lessons anyway to learn exactly what an examiner will be looking for, and they should be able to lend you a bike for the test. It'll probably be around £15-£25.

I haven't booked it yet as i don't seem to have a motorcycle that i can sit it on at the moment, my current beast is only a 50cc..

The only riding school near me won't talk to me for some reason! maybe they know i'm coming.

i'll have to do some more looking around...

Thanks for your help guys.

P.S; Sephiroth have you seen advent children yet?

How much are lessons roughly?
My car ones were £21 per hour.. is it the same for bikes?
And thinking about it.. I'd have to go there for a lesson wouldn't I?
Or would they pick me up?

Thanks

You'd have to go there for a lesson, and I'm paying £20 an hour next Friday for a one-one using my own bike.

I might call up some insurance companies and see if i can insure myself on my friends NSR for a day to sit the test.

He shouldn't mind me borrowing it...
Although, he doesn't know this yet. Shifty

i don't think an insurance company would cover you for one day.
