Some places will give you a loan bike and other won't, some will charge and some won't.

Where I work loan bikes are available for most work and we don't charge.

Are loan bikes dependant on age?

I would imagine a lot is down to the discretion of the salesman.

A lot of places don't let you have one, it depends on the circumstances. I doubt anywhere charges anything significant for one though.

The last one I had was a 250 scooter. Did just fine for the purpose I needed it for ie. to get home and back.

Some places don't have insurance for you to keep them overnight though, which is an arse.

Got one when I took mine in for servicing last monday. It was a last minute booking so the best they could give me was a 125cc Honda twist and go jobbie with L plates on. Was like riding on a flymo Embarassed

First time I'd ridden one; didn't feel at all comfortable on the thing but it was only for a few miles to work and then back to the garage so it served a purpose. Kept flexing my right foot for the back brake which of course wasn't there. Didn't cost anything although I had to sign a disclaimer for the first £500 of any damage.
