Well, the title is self explanatory really, well, except it didn't get a wee bit wet, it got soaked. I left it in my jeans and then put them in the wash, headphones too. Couldn't believe it when I seen it. It's currently drying on a radiator. I don't think it is going to work after it's dried up. Any ideas for what to do? Will I be able to fob Apple of and get a replacement, say it's the battery etc? Oh, it's the Nano version, 2GB.

Thanks in advance.

Mr. Nano, meet Mr. Washing Machine

Not sure how helpful that will be, but perhaps there's a little ray of hope in there. If it doesn't work, I'd just leave it dry out and, like you said, fob Apple off for a replacement.

Saying that, it seems like it's a pretty tough nut. Best of luck with it anyway. Thumbs Up

In theory, you can put a laptop in a bath for half an hour (turned off or course Wink ) and it will still work when its completely dried out, so it should be alright with your iPod too.

Just dont dry it on the radiator Exclamation

Let it dry naturally for at least 48 hours...

Thanks for the replies. The screen never got wet, and there is no water on the inside. I still had the plastic cover on it. Last night it spent it with me in bed in an effort to dry it out and I think it did a good job. When I said radiator, it's not a radiator, it's like one, but it's a gas fire, small, similar to a radiator. I've plugged it in to charge it up, and as expected, nothing. I think I'll leave it a day or two in some place warm, and if that doesn't work, how would I go about getting it replaced by Apple? Could I blame it on the battery and get a new one sent out or will they be able to detect the tiny amounts of water droplets inside? Also, the Nano is two months old.

If you try it before it's dry you'll knacker it.

If you get something electronic wet, leave it in an airing cupboard or something for at least a few days, and then try it. Don't try it every hour 'just in case'.

Seen a mate submerge a Video Recorder in a bath once to clean it after the inside had got bunged up with dust and fluff etc.

I honestly thought he was mental. But he told me it would be fine.

Three days in the airing cupboard, plugged it in, was spot on, I WAS gobsmacked.

He was an ex BT engineer, said that anything that is electrical is fine to get, as long as there's no power going through it. Water doesn't do the damage, its the current travelling through it at the same time that knackers things up.

You've already tried charging it up and trying it now, so may be too late. But give it a day or so in the airing cupboard (if you have one) and see what happens.

Absolutely nothing happened when I plugged the charger into it, and then unplugged it. I'm now going to leave it alone until tomorrow evening. Don't have an airing cupboard so for now, it's on top of a TV which gets nice and warm, but not too warm where it'll frazzle it. I think it looks like it is going to have to be buried Bendy. C'est la vie. I best starting thinking of thinks I can say to Apple.
