ay up ppl. basically i am thinking of downsizing my bike. i currently ride a bandit 6 and its a v nice bike but ever since ive got my car im gettin more and more paranoid about riding it. Basically cuz its not restricted and i dont have any certs for it. i am just terrified of getting pulled on it and the coppers finding out, because i already have 3 points im sure i would lose my license which would mean, car, bike, job, life gone. and although my 2 years is up in december, i want something i can ride on and chill out abit knowing im not doing anything illegal. i know some of u will say why dont u just restrict it but too be honest i hated my er5 being restricted. it simply does the engine no good and it would be a shame to knacker this one as it is a lovely bike.
if i was to downsize i want a sportsbike and basically im thinking of an rs125 if anyones interested in a swap dont hesitate to let me know. cheers. ____________________ Rh. |

How exactly do you think the police would find out if they pulled you over? Unless you were doing 130 they can't find out unless they dyno it. Still if your license means that much that it could cost you everything, maybe its for the best |

Im sure even the rs125 is still illegal on a 33bhp restricted licence because of the power to weight ratio, dont quote me on that though. ____________________ Test passed october 2005

Tell the operator to fiddle the drum setings or not fully open the throttle so your dyno printout stays under 33bhp.
or take off two of the spark plug leads. ____________________ >RidingSkills<->Tech Tips<->MyBikes< |

I got asked to do a producer. I wasn't even riding the bloody bike! i had broken down and I had to leave it in a car park near my school and get to school. I went to get it to push into the school grounds (obviously no helmet as i was pushing it) and then a copper drives around the corner, "is that your bike" lol well yes I have the keys here... I showed him that it wouldn't start and explained the problem that had occurred in the morning. They checked that the bike was mine. It had tax on in and everything but I had left my wallet in school so I didn't have my license with me so they asked me to do a producer,I didn't have restrictors in or a certificate. I just went there and gave them the docs I did have and she didn't turn the slip over to reveal Number 7, any other docs (The certificate) so I got away with it Very lucky though

as dmahon said
YOU
DO
NOT
NEED
A
CERTIFICATE
Ive had loads of producers, (some fair, speeding without them having proof, scraping pegs on industrial estates. And some completely unfair like in a private car park, with the keys out.) Every single time ive been to the station i havent been asked for a cerificate, this is because they arent a legal document its basically an official looking peice of paper which people think you need. This is how they get away with charging £200 for 4 washers and a piece of paper, because people think they have to!?!?
The only reason you need a certifcateisbecause some insurers want to see one. I dont know who these are because ive never been asked.
Instigator i dont think they will have much chance in court, especially if you restrict your bike before it is tested. You could do all manner of things. Upjet so it is richer than bill gates, disconnect a coil at the low tension side, gaffer tape over the airbox and poke a hole in the tape (leaving it much smaller than standard) I doubt theres any way they could prove it wasnt like that when he got pulled. ____________________ Bluespark Automotive - Diesel Tuning for Performance and Economy |
