Had my first red mist on the road today... (Not interesting)

Coming up to take the 12 o Clock exit on a roundabout (Coming off of the A562 en route to Widnes, heading towards catalyst museum), I was in the left hand land indicating left... Saw a kit car on the right hand side of me, and it's position was indicating that it too would like a slice of my left hand turning action.

Looked like a bright yellow caterham or something, but anyway, it totally cut me up, forced me to nearly go into the kerb (I saw this happen way before it did, so I moved left accordingly.

It then overtook me just as the turn off was completed, and blasted up the wrong side of a dual carriageway to overtake the next car.

I wish my bike was faster, I accelerated up to about 60 to try and get his reg plate to report him for dangerous driving, but didn't manage to

Really really wanted the roundabout ahead to be packed with traffic so I could catch up with him, but no.

If I ever see that stupid mid life crisis wagon again, so help me god

Wonder whether that would of happened if you'd been on a GSX-R1000.



I think a lot of the time they see someone like yourself on a small bike and automatically take the piss.

Mind you, I don't get incidents like these very often, I think people in Liverpool/Warrington much generally be good drivers (Even the guys from Cheshire cruises and the like tend to drive pretty well)

And as it's an open top follow it till it parks up somewhere then take a dump in it.

I also have a similair yellow kit car that bashes around the local area when the sun is out and I usually run into him on my commute/pleasure rides and he doesn't even dare, I see him ripping up and generally endangering car drivers and smaller bikes but anything that looks a bit fast and he just hangs back. The funny thing is with my bike he could probably make a laughing stock of me, silly posers.

I was waiting behind one of these at some roadworks the other day. It was a 40 year old man, at least, clearly a case of the midlife. Anyway we were waiting for the lights to turn green, and he gets bored waiting and decides to go anyway. Just as he pulls out, a police car appears coming the other way. He pulled right back in, the wrong side of the traffic light. I wish he'd gotten royally raped for that, but I had to be content with wagging my finger at him in a condescending way.

Kit cars are dangerous, if they hit you there is a risk of injury from;

exposed wheels

sharp frame work breaking up and impaling anyone nearby

catching fire

I think the pedestrian safety of those cars is awfull, if you fall on the bonnet you will land on the engine and probably hurt your back.

I really thought my front wheel was going to hit the front wheel of the car at one point.

I thought cars had to have a test to check for exposed bodywork? (Like rolling a foam drum around it or something?)

Looking at alot of thos caterham all there front mudguards are fibre glass so there just there for looks not to stop injury

Its a road, people drive like tits or people with no arms sometimes. Otherwise they drive fast and aoften dangerously.

The thing is that although you think they nearly knocked you off from there point of veiw they were not close, so they would probably know better being in control of the vehicle.

Sometimes these people will cause crashes, but they didnt today. So why does it matter?

Toby, I know your only on a scooter but get your@rse further into the middle of the lane, regardless of which way your turning, dont give them the chance to pull along side you, Why is is all scooters ride in the gutter i wonder cos cars just cut em up all the time for it.

He's on a cg Stitch. I think from the looks of it in this case Toby was prob in the middle of his lane to turn left and the knob in the caterham cut on inside lane to pass him onto the dual carriageway.

Know what you mean about sccots tho - sitting to left of lane.. they prob do it so as not too cause too much of a pain to traffic but don't see that they're encouraging car drivers to do daft overtakes and risk scoot rider :-/
