Heya,

Im getting money together to do a bike test soon ( A2 is it? the 33bhp one as im only 17 )

Anyway I have been riding a moped pretty much everyday ( geared 50cc ) since I was 16, and now im on a rs 125 and I have been riding that pretty much everyday as well.

I would say Im a pretty confident rider, I still do silly things like go to fast, but I know when to stop ( like when a blind junction is up ahead and I only go for it on roads I no ) apart from that I think im pretty safe.

Anyway I was wondering, do you reckon I could just jump straight into the test? with no training before hand.

Obviously you dont know how I ride, so you cant really say, So basicly im asking is there any habbits I should be getting into ( For example, a car test wont let you look behind you when you reverse, so u have to use the mirrors, even though I do this now I have passed )

Cheers.

You can just go for the test, but I would advise at least one lesson before going for it. The reason I say that is I rode everyday for a year on CBT, and if I had not had lessons (OK, I was doing DAS, so I needed them) I would not have passed. You will have probably picked up some habits that you are not aware of, and need them ironing out before being examined. Getting into habits is relatively easy, getting out of them is harder, and you will need someone to tell you what they are. Also remember that the instructors will know the test centre - what one examiner will give you a minor for, another might not even consider it a fault.
