Cleaning and drying Sidi Vertebrae boots?

Well after a lot of usage they have started to get a bit smelly. Basically I'm not sure the best way to go about washing and drying them effectively as I don't want to clobber the inside of any machines yet. Equally I don't want to end up using some kind of washing method that will you know, cause them to explode and give me syph. Trust me on this one, when I do stuff myself using relatively logically sound seeming methods I always manage to end up somehow completely ballsing it all up, so any advice?

spray em with an odour neutriliser after every ride.

to wash the insides - stick a mildy soapy sponge (liquid soap for handwashing wool is best) or cloth inside and give em a rub, rinse it out (cloth not boot), do it again few times til yer happy, until ya end up with fresh water... dont be scared to wet em but dont allow them to soak..

if it gets too wet inbetween soaping and rinsing - get a hand towel and stick it in and soak up wetness, finish with a rub with a hand towel.

fill emm with scrunched up news paper and leave em on the floor to dry in normal temps - not by radiator - take out paper after hour or so and if damp/wet fill with fresh dry paper...

also - look at the socks your wearing, wear socks that allow the feet to breath... altho i realise it's never gonna give ya dry toes...

also try putting scented talc in ya boots and or socks...

clean outsides with leather cleaner and treat with leather wax etc..

I tend to use Febreeze (or similar) as a temporary fix
