I've been trying to write a letter to county hall about my girls school
but what I've got so far doesn't seem to make sense now I've wrote it
could one of you kind people have a read and tell me if i'm doing it right I don't wanna sound like a whiney twat i just wanna get my girl into a different school.
please feel free to add advice i won't be offended honest
Letter:
I am writing concerning the general performance and an incident which happened today at my daughters school, ******** Primary School. The incident happened this morning as Jamie's mother was dropping Jamie at school, Jamie went inside the building and then went to come back out as she had forgotten to kiss her mother goodbye. As she came through the doorway she was pushed in the chest by a teacher entering the school (Miss *******), the push took the wind out of Jamie and she began to cry but the teacher carried on and left her there (with her mother and another teacher) without checking if she was alright or apologising. The headmistress (Mrs *******) was informed straight away and said she believed that it was an accident and the teacher had meant no intentional harm although Jamies mother saw what had happened and has said that it did not look like an accidental push, I also find it quite difficult to believe that any grown woman who had hurt a severn year old wouldn't stop and check the child was alright and say sorry to her unless she had meant to hurt her in the first place. I would like this incident to be looked into and checked by yourselves as an independent party as it is quite odvious that the headmistress has no interest in doing so.
Jamie has attended ******* school since nursery and I am very disappointed in the performance of the school, when Jamie was in reception class she was bullied by some of the other children and was bitten on one occassion and on another she was pushed down the side of a toilet by two girls and kicked both incidents were reported to the school and nothing was done about either incident, Jamies mother spoke to the parents involved herself and sorted out the general bullying and we also enroled Jamie at a kickboxing class to build her confidence and feel more secure about herself. Although Jamie had not been physically bullied for a while she did come home from school one day a while ago and was upset because she had been called names and her friend was hit by another girl, following the incident we approached Mrs ******* and told her about this and gave her the phone number of jamies kickboxing teacher who agreed to give talks to the children on the dangers of strangers and on bullying as he does in other schools, she dismissed the offer and said there was no need as there is no bullying problem at the school and after talking to other parents I know that she was very wrong, also at the time there was a problem of strangers hanging around the school which was known about because we had a letter sent to us.
I am hoping to get Jamie transfered out of this school because she loves to learn and is always drawing and reading but I believe if she stays in this school she is going to give up and not want to learn, although her teachers have been good at teaching her and Mrs Hyman in particular improved her no end when she figured out how to get through to Jamie, but it seems that the structure of the school is all about figures and performance and the welfare and comfort of the children are not considered.Another example of the lack of care was a fortnight ago Jamie jammed her fingers in a toilet door and was left to sit in the corridor on her own with a fractured thumb until her mother collected her.
I want Jamie to be safe and happy in school and not have to worry about her while she is in the care of the school, all kids have problems at school and with other children at times but this school doesn't seem to have any sort of awnser to problems they may come across except for ignore things that they hope will go away. I don't want Jamie to grow up thinking that whatever she does she cannot make things different for herself by confronting her problems, I have spoken to her about going to a different school and she has decided that although she will have to walk further and will miss a few friends she would like to go to a different school.
Thanks guys. ____________________ Tristan the wrote: just whipped off my trousers to find a big bruise on my arse, caused by matt rear ending me... |

Is this a letter complaining about your girl's treatment at her current school? If so, it's OK.
However if it's supposed to be a letter asking to move her to another school it's a bit
If that's what you want to do, you need to start the letter by saying so! Something along the lines of:
"Due to a growing number of incidents I would like to move my daughter Jamie from ****** school to ****** school. I am concerned that her current situation is making her unhappy and may ultimately affect her performance and whole outlook on her future education.
I would like to particularly draw your attention to the following incidents, none of which have been resolved to my satisfaction yet."
Then list the incidents you have mentioned one by one, in bullet form to emphasise each seperate one.
Finish with something like:
" I hope you can understand my concerns for my daughter's welfare, and I look forward to your positive response and assistance to my desire to move her to ***** school. Please treat this letter as a formal transfer request, and advise me of the next steps to be taken at your earliest convenience" ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |

Having just read what has been going on that is appalling. Ask also for copies of every single policy that the school has in place and how often they are updated.
Once you have transferred her, then raise official complaints about the teachers involved!
Appalling. You send your child to school and hope they will be looked after, I've had one incident where my 6 year old daughter got pushed by another child (but it was an accident) she needed 9 stitches in her nose BUT they rang me immediately in order that she could be comfortable that I was on my way to take her to hospital.
What is this country coming to!

Hmmm...
I agree with the above points, only thing id be wary of is expecting the school to react to every incident that upsets your SEVEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.
To be fair, you would be up in arms if one of the other girls got upset about something your daughter said and they instantly brought you in demanding you reign in your child etc.
Sometimes schools prefer to just quietly talk to each kid, and that was when i was young(er). Now with teachers having to walk on eggshells around overreacting parents its alot harder to satisfy everyone.
As for the thumb incident, i can see how that is upsetting, but again bare in mind if they sat for an hour with every child who thought they had broken something they would never be able to teach. Sadly in your particular case they had (and i hope shes ok now).
Also, teachers have to be very careful being alone with kids etc, its far safer for them to leave a distressed child on their own then be accused of improper conduct. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...
From September 2014 to January/February 2015 I will not be using any English, nor reading any. As such, I won't be on here. PM at will, but I won't be checking/posting unless in emergencies. Certainly not for the first couple of months. Please berate me savagely if I break that rule... |

Thanks to all of you who have replied, thought it sounded like I was going on a bit.
This is not the transfer letter it's a complaint to the school goveners, so it is along the right lines and just needs some tuning.
| Quote: | and dont refer to yourself as Jamie's mum as you are writing the letter. |
but I'm her dad .

I don't expect them to react to every problem she has but one would be nice. Jamies not the sort of child to make a fuss about little things, she's a bit of a tomboy ride's a pw50 (and has fallen off a few times and just picks it up and gets back on), she's fought in a few kickboxing competitions and it takes a fair bit to get her upset. The school doesn't bother with problems like bullying and I'm not the only person to have made issues with the school about it with no results.I'm not trying to have a go, it's quite difficult to understand without meeting her.

Thank's for the reminder, I didn't state that it was during lunchtime (they aren't allowed to use the toilets in lesson time) there must have been people around doing nothing or even sit her outside the staffroom with the door open.
Thank you all again for your help and support and I hope it's sorted soon. ____________________ Tristan the wrote: just whipped off my trousers to find a big bruise on my arse, caused by matt rear ending me... |
