Be aware that when I tried the software posted by Daz any chapters over around 5 minutes long (or was it 10000 frames?) got truncated. Don't know why. Couldn't take the hassle to look further.

So I used DVD Shrink to re-author (backup) the particular VOB to hard drive and then used VirtualDubMod (google for it) to read the file and save as an avi with a suitable codec (think I picked an MS one for compatibility). Long winded I know but it does work. I'm sure there are other one click solutions out there.

HTH Thumbs Up

I use one on my Media Center PC at home, but I've forgotton what its called! Embarassed I'll take a look tonight, but its none that have been mentioned.

Really simple to use, ie: stick in the DVD and tell it where to rip it to, then off it goes. Takes about 20 mins and will even force crack protected DVD's. Does not compress though, so you get about 6gb of data but it keeps all the DVD menu's etc and does not loose any quality.

Thumbs Up
