I have decided to sell my spare bike:

Suzuki Bandit
600cc Unfaired
1997 P Registered
Imported May '97, cannot confirm overseas use.
In that blue/green.
Mileage in Km's but I think it's about 20k in miles. (I will confirm).
Has tax/MOT Until December.
Both road legal and viper race can.

Things I know about the bike:

The sump nut has threaded and needs replacing. I have found a replacement sump and a new sump gasket.
At least one of the nuts holding the exhaust down pipes on has rounded off and I cannot remove it. Until this is removed, the sump will not come off.
The choke cable has been replaced but but needs setting up correctly.
I believe the bike to have been dropped by a previous owner. some of the plastics are cracked, and the headlight is not the original.

I will try and post pics as soon as I get home.

I am open to offers as I know it needs a little work.

I suggest you arrange collection as with the sump dripping oil, it's not safe as it will coat the rear tyre.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Bikes located in SE London - BR3 Post Code.

Price wise, I'm open to (sensible) offers. I should know a bit more on Thursday.

Not quite sure what sensible is, considering the work needing done (and I hate to think what the collector box is like *shudders*) but I may be interested if it's in the sub £1k bracket. Need to confirm my bike sale and job offer before I do a thing though.

Is it me or does the front of the bike look remarkably similar to the rear?

*bump*

Thought I'd update the ad.

The mileage states 26,392 Km's, which is 16,399 miles.

I took my last go at trying to remove the down pipes but I lost my patience. Someone with the right tools, a bit of strength and a bit more patience than me could probably sort it easily.

To answer the question about the collector box, it appears to be 'differnet' from the standard Bandit and whils cakes in crud adn alittle rust, it seems solid. Ive given it a good tap and poke.

I've bolted the sump back on and I will probably use something like araldite to permenantly fix the sump nut in place to stop the leak, unless somenoe asks otherwise. Dont forget I have the replacement sump and gasked for a swap over.

I'm ideally looking at around £600. But like I say, make me an offer.

If there is a fair bit of interest, I may whack it on ebay with no reserve and just see where it goes.

Need to know anything else, then just ask.

Cheers guys!

£600 seems a fair price tbh, i seen runners for for £1k and one previously on ebay as non runenr go for £800 so a good price for that rounded bolt just get a really good pair of mole grips and gently rock it back and forth, will have it off easily, i did this many a time on rounded bolts all about gently gently easy monkey!

If you could get the oil leak fixed (so basically I could get it 450 miles up the road) then Id be very interested. Destroy as much of the original sump as you like, so long as its not leaking.

Another update.

I have re-attached the faulty sump and have used 'leak-fix' on the nut in an attempt to stop it leaking.

It is still dripping, but only a minute amount. You 'could' ride it, but you really need to be aware of it.

Had it running yesterday when I did all the work and it seems to be fine, so if anyone want to look, Im around tonight, and Wednesday/Thursday nights from around 7pm.

PM me if you'd like to take a look.

I will not be around for 2 weeks after this so would like shot this week if possible.

Cheers!
