Hello am wanting to do a part time uni course for 2 years it starts in september and costs £1750 a year which i dont have spare. I am working full time but its not a high paid job or anything and am 18, obviously if i start uni then i cant work the hours I do so am going have to work part time. Is there any way i could get a student loan when ive looked on line it just says about people doing full time courses.

Thanks

Have you looked at OU? You might be able to do the same course for alot cheaper, and also get money off.

Should get you sorted out! Failing that, getting an unsecured loan (not secured against your house) might be an option but they might not like your age.

Go to college , many colleges do degrees now and act as a way to dodge fees , you still have to pay something but not much,

or

find a university that does stuff at night or condenses courses into a day or two , and take the top up fees ,

unless you earn a helluva lot immediately after university your never going to pay topup fees back.

if I was on topup fees I'd have paid nothing back and probably would not for a few years , since the grads earn 25K+ on ave leaving university is a big lie , I'm still floating around the 13K mark and in all honesty would probably be better off starting work at 16.

What you need to do is quite simple. Email or phone your local LEA and ask for the forms to apply for student grants and loads. (I think it's called the PH1 form, i can't remember now)

Thumbs Up Cool

Apply to Sheff City Council for means tested supplements to help you pay.

Also look about using a student loan.

Finally, universities are used to this situation and will let you pay monthly if that helps.
