dont get to worried if u think you got a question rong you can go thru them all again to check, take your time if you dont know an answer to a question its probly gonna be the most logical one.

and make sure you click as soon as you see the hazard on the hazard preception, if you keep a cool head you should be ok.

To be honest it's mostly common sense. There's normally two answers to each question that's obviously wrong. Also remember that it's all about safety so go for the safest sounding answer (even if it's not what you or anyone else actually does!!)

The only thing I reckon you should swot up on is the thinking/braking/overall stopping distances. Just remember, you never sound the horn, never flash your lights (unless it's to let someone know you are there), don't carry petrol in a milk bottle etc etc. And if it's a sign covered by snow, it says STOP!!

Best of luck mate

Try clicking multiple times for each hazard that you spot. Once as soon as you see it, another about a second later. Just to be sure, click a second later too.

This way you can ensure that you wont click too early. Yes, early! I found that with the training clips you can get on CD, it said I completely missed the hazard, even though I know I had clicked it in good time (it tells you the actual hazard afterwards). Perhaps the actual DSA ones are better, I'll never know. It's all done by video frames, where one single frame will denote the start of the hazard - which presumeably someone else has had to interpret.

Just don't click too often, or too rhythmically, as they class it as cheating, and you'll score 0 for that clip.

True enough.

Hazard perception is a total load of bollox!

I passed my car test in '97 and had to do the bike hazard test in '02 and passed it just! Even after doing the tests on CD etc I found it difficult. The way I passed that one was to click when I saw ANY movement on the road. If you see someone leaving their house to get into their car THATS A HAZARD. If you see a child safely cross the road after the roundabout you're about to enter THATS A HAZARD. As I said, bollox!!

As far as you passing you're theory, YOU'RE A POTENTIAL HAZARD Wink

i.e If it moves, clicky clicky clicky!!

Best of luck again!!

This is what I did,

Anything that could turn nasty no matter how unpredicatable, I clicked with about 2 second intervals at a maximum of about 4 times.

There has been some debate regarding how good this test actually is. I think the best advice is not to be afraid of clicking two or three times as you see the hazard developing. It was found that a high percentage of driving and advanced driving instructors were getting very poor results if not failing this test when doing it for the first time. Not because they failed to see the hazard. They'd seen the potential hazard and had given a single click before the computer regarded it as a hazard. Gosh, aren't I using the word hazard a lot! I think on the day of your test you can have a bit of a practice in order for you to understand how to take the test.
Good luck
