Generating web traffic

Hi guys,

I'm currently building a website just now (www.silvershoeforge.com/catalog ) and I'm looking at ways to generate traffic. In particular I'm looking for free (i.e. torrent) version of a traffic generator. Can any one help?

its all down to how a search engine like google, yahoo & msg eg, search you.

they basicaly have 'bots' that scan your site for information, front page, and now with google and the likes scan for videos and pictures. this isn't generally a good thing if you have limited bandwidth.

probably best thing to start with is meta tags. and go from there
