Will passing, electircal wires, telephone cables and TV signal cables through the same trunking cause problems. I know that in theory there will be induced currents etc, but does it cause problems with phone signals, broad band or TV reception in real life? Will applying a ferrite around the telephone cable help? Thanks in advance for all helpful input.

you should pass telephone and cat cables or arial cables through the same trunking, because they are not insulated to 240/415v

If they're in a straight line or 90 degrees it'll be fine...otherwise you could have a problem, chances are it'll be fine anyway though...most things are shielded 'enough'...the major problems arise when you have 'electrical noise' on your mains for one reason or another.

It's mainly a Health and Safety issue, different levels of insulation between low and high voltage circuits. So it's only really the mains you need think about the rest are all low voltage stuff and will pose no issues at all.

You should try to keep the mains as seperate as possible, over short distances running in parallel they will be OK or crossing at 90degrees. But if your planning a long run then try to seperate them as much as poss either by air gap or a physical division. Even by putting a smaller trunking inside the main one is enough to comply with reg's but will not guarantee no interference. In reality unless you've got some heavy motor running on the mains you shouldn't have any problems and certainly there is no need for a ferrite on the telephone cable.

One thing noise will degrade is analogue modem signals (and it may possibly affect ADSL)

Should be ok. When I use to install trunking we used the type with 3 sections so we could seperate everything.
