If the person interviewing you says they will contact you by 4PM via phone or email and they don't this is almost a certain slam dunk

we don't want you for this job right?.

Its just that I'm wondering what to do tommorow , do I go ride to the place of interview and ask , (I don't have the direct extension number)
its pretty far away and I don't fancy wasting the gas.Or do I take it as a given I ain't got the job and just concentrate on preping for another couple of interviews I have lined up next week , I wouldn't mind riding but its pissing it down and will do tommorow (rain).

Ride up there with a bunch of mates and smash the door in.

No, don't actually do that but that's what you'd like to do right? Or is that just me?

Ring them in the morning, shows you're persistant and want the job Thumbs Up.

Take it as you haven't got the job.

If you have got a job, you always hear a hell of a lot before the deadline they give you. I've had two job interviews, both said they'd let me know in 2 weeks, both called me in two days.

If you've not heard a day before the deadline, they you don't have it, sadly.

Being persistant at wanting a job won't make them change their mind, it will simply annoy them.

ring and ask. If it really is a no, ask for feedback on why and learn from any mistakes. Good Luck

Try to put it out of your mind as there's nothing you can do about it now. Concentrate on the other job interviews lined up, do more preparation than you did for this one, tape yourself answering the usual questions and play back to see how you come across: are you confident or do you start every sentence with 'err' and finish with 'you know'. Try to avoid saying 'like'...

If you have a videocamera, record yourself as well, to see what your body language says about you.

Good luck with the next one! Don't worry too much about today's; I was expecting to hear by Thursday close of business but didn't get the good news until Tuesday morning. The person interviewing you might have had an emergency at work or at home, or a meeting that overran.

yeah I've edited that out of my interviews the er and like I'm pretty specific and back up everything with examples,

But I was interviewed by a panel of 8 , one person having a calamity is reasonable but 8 , nah never mind 3 more interview chances lined up next week.

For my last 2 jobs I was called 2-3 days after they said they would to say I had the job.

It really does p me off when people don't call to say no. I also hate it when you get useless feedback. I got told this week that "you are not suitable for the company", what the feck does that mean. At least tell me something I can work with.

well I called up and they said:

"You are not a suitable candidate for this role"

which means nothing to me ,

and

"I don't have enough experience"

which I can do nothing about

You were right to call up. It is simply unprofessional and cowardly not to confirm to someone if they haven't got the job.

It seems some people in business take 'I'll call you back by the end of the day' to mean anytime within a week or not at all if it doesn't directly serve thier interests.
Then they'll pop up two weeks later hoping for an urgent favour. C-!uT$!! (having a bad day)

actually they said oh we were just about to call you

my cynics sense (a power similar is not more so than Spidey's spider sense) said in my mind yeah right.

scatch the above comment , one of the 3 for next week withdrew their job .

Obviously it's out of the question to be in an agency job and not be applying to another at the same time...

Get an agency job and carrying on applying to others. At least then you have a safety net.

If you have even an ounce of disipline, you won't stay in an agency job forever.

I am working currently just not in a job I really want to be doing , tis all , all these jobs I am applying for have career prospects , rather than the min wage being bumped up each time the government puts it up.

Depends if you go there to fuck about or do some work.

Worked for Govt Office for a while, went on to admin a callcentre, ended up being promoted to database programmer, now work for a major video games company and have a large penis.
