Having problems making a page load. I'm using Firefox and Internet Explorer, it doesn't work with either.

Other pages on the site load without problem, its just this one.

When trying with Firefox it prompts me asking if I want to download the .php page or open it from its current location. Downloading it just gives a blank .php file and opening it from its current location just goes round it circles asking me if I want to download it or open it.

When trying with Internet Explorer I get "The page cannot be displayed".

Any ideas why my computer would suddenly start refusing to load one page? The page is about 3mb but that shouldn't be causing a problem and until a couple of days ago hasn't been a problem.

It's passworded. Page is on kornel.com and Korn says nothing changed there so it's got to be something wrong here.

It works quite happily on other computers just not on mine for some reason. No one else is having problems with it, it's just on my computer that it doesn't work.

Confused

Have you upgraded your PC since the page last worked? windows update (if you have automatic updates configured you can goto the windows update site in IE and click the view your installation history button on the left)? Not sure if there's been any firefox releases recently :S as I don't use it... Who's your ISP? they may use a caching web proxy (NTL's ones cause problems with dynamic content every now and then.) and they may have changed something maybe.

Otherwise i'm out of ideas - anyway Korns a geeky IT bod so if none of the above help to fix the issues he's your best bet :S.

Might be worth uninstalling and reinstalling firefox and trying again (reinstalling IE is possible but i can't be arsed to write instructions for something that's not a guaranteed fix.)

I tried installing Opera and it does the same there, asking me if I want to download or open from current location.

ISP is Pipex. Havn't updated anything since it last worked and don't have automatic updates turn on.

Telling it to alway open that type of file with Firefox just made it open a few hundred tabs before crashing Laughing

No ideas left really, I would be interested to see what Korns webserver has in it's access and error logs though, seems rather strange that any browser on your machine does the same thing but it doesn't happen for others... doesn't sound like any usual spyware/browser hijack/virus i've ever head of though. If it were my pc that had the issue I'd probably backup and reinstall windows on my pc.

Uhm, read the posts, Ste says it's on kornel.com which is korns site which is hosted on the same server as BCf last time I checked. if that is the case then it does support php, and regardless ste mentions that it works for everyone else who visits the site (including king web-monkey korn Smile )

It's my computer rather than ISP, if I share this connection over out network then the page can be loaded elsewhere on the network over my connection. Likewise if I turn my internet off and use my dads connection shared over the network then it still doesn't load on my computer.

This is starting to annoy me now Laughing

You see thats a lot of if's, a's and but's. I was merely suggesting it incase it was that simple.

Not really, ste mentions that he is the only person he knows about that has problems accessing his friends site, therefore the problem is not the host not supporting php - you are talking crap mate Karma .
