Probably unlikely, as they won't make any money this way, but - any chance that anyone knows of a dial up service with a geographic code phone number? (non subscription one, of course Smile)

Can't think of one. Why do you need one?

Compuserve still have international access from local numbers.

A few of the ISPs have local call numbers for their dial up services with no registration required ( https://www.uk2.net is worth a try).

Hostinguk.net offer a non-subscription free dialup service - it's an 0845 number though so local rate.

Yep - have used that uk2 dialup service before as they are the only free dialup service i could find that offered an smtp server.

I'm using UK2Net at the mo...wanted a geographic number 'cos then it would be included in the "5.5p for one hour" thing on BT, which specifies that local rate etc numbers are not included...I think?
