If a bike has had its engine changed with another from the same bike, and the engine numbers have been changed on the logbook with the new correct engine numbers is there any record of this, does this show up on a HPI or does it state in the Log Book that the engine was changed at so and so date?

Cheers
Jose

Unless something has changed very recently, no it's not recorded.

Sorry, but you should declare it to the DVLA.

It shows up on the log book.

I know i've had to do it on the Mondeo.

Its simple, you just fill in on the log book your new engine number, send it off, thats all.

I'm fairly sure that the DVLA will now want to inspect your vehicle before they will issue a new V5.

You need to ring your local DVLA office and ask, it's not on the website that I can see.

Something to do with vehicle identity and cutting down on ringing IIRC, it's a similar process and inspection to if your car has been written off and you put it back on the road.

That wasn't the question. The question was, can you tell if a vehicle has had the engine changed after it has been logged with the DVLA Thumbs Up

Cool, I thought it must show up as a change somewhere, wasn't certain though.
