Same engine as the monster/ss. Belts are piss to change, valves are little more tricky/different but hardly wear. I do more than 240miles a week on my monster.

Well im gonna go have a proper look tomorrow, its the 1st bike ive looked at in a dealers for a long time and actually been interested, it is a bit pricey tho but it is in pretty good nick...

do you have to drop the engine for the belt changes or are they on the side of the engine like i seem to think they are ?

If you're gonna buy a cagiva make sure you can get cheap pattern parts yourself. The dealers rely on rob sturgess of mitomondo.co.uk because the importers carry little stock. Original parts are extortionate aswell, £20 per fork seal, and i can get a pair for £10 which are higher specced. Do not buy genuine cagiva parts, but good quality alternatives instead. Thumbs Up

Hi

Only worry would be that there were next to none of those bikes imported, and that one must be at least 15 years old.

Engine should be OK for spares. They are very tall from memory.

All the best

I have a few Cagiva workshop manuals that might help.
I don't have the exact one but I have the Alazzurra 650 (engine most likely the same), and most others from '89 on like the elephant 750/900.

I agree it's a rip off but if you compare to say Honda spares then it's not that bad at all.

All Cagiva parts turn up on eBay eventually anyway. I've bought fork seals, sprocket set, left mirror and speedo cable for the planet...all new and genuine cagiva items for less than £50. Thumbs Up
