Huge, huge problem

Evening all. I have a huge problem. It basically boils down to this, we are trying to sell our house in Spain to move back to England(I say we, I mean my parents) however our buyers have just pulled out as when they did some research, they have discovered they are planning to make the road approx 500m from our house a dual carriageway, and then another major road that will come right through our garden! Bear in mind our house is practically in the country, good 3 and a half acres of land, and they are planning to build a main road no further than 50m from where I'm sitting now. Obviously this will devalue our house by at least 200,000€ as well as totally ruin it. Is there anything we can protest about under UK law, obviously Spanish laws are difference, but they surely must be similar.

Yeah thats pretty much what we've been told aswell, theres basically nothing you can do, but I was just wondering if there were any loopholes anyone knew of, or at least something we could protest about. But as for the Spanish builders, they built the new road already 500m from my house in record time, and they plan for the new one in less than a year! Crying or Very sad
