What about a "Dave Grohl" It's short-ish, smart, and it won't be as much of a shock of just shaving all your hair off. Will require a little bit of styling, but a bit of "Loreal Out Of Bed Putty" will solve that Thumbs Up

at uni, they have a salon and they mash you're hair into funkyness for free, cos the students need to practise Laughing

if they do mash it up in an o so unfunky way the 'teacher' will rescue your dreds

You're not getting it either; I don't want people to 'tell' me anything, I'd like suggestions. It's what people think. I also wanted serious suggestions, nothing to take the piss. I've had enough of people calling me a lady-boy.

Thanks to the others.

My mother is also a hair dresser so I'll pop down to see her some time although she is old fashioned.

OK, lets put it the simplest way possible.

I don't know what styles there are out there, I was asking for ideas, serious ones, to see what I might like.

ok well i got my hair cut 2day, might post pics later to show what u can get done for cheap lol.

Sep, easiest way is just watch a film or flick thru a magazine and say "hmm i like his hair" and then get it done.

or do what i did,

"id like it cut"

"how much? just a bit off the pony tail?"

"umm, no.... all of it, short back and sides and enuf on top to style"

and 10mins later im out of there.

into boots pick up Studio FX as its helmet proof.

Short back and sides. 'Tis the only haircut that a normal male human has.

I hate going to the barbers as I feel stupid asking for something, so normally chicken out and just ask for the usual 2 at the back and sides and 7 on top. Its just long enough for wax (and french crop or messed up in a week).

Plucked up the courage and asked for her to just cut it, as my hair was not that long (not like yours anyways) but she did a short version of this:

Will let it grow and then have the sides cut a little shorter next time.

Too late now, I've had it cut off. Was a bit hard as I sat there and had it all chopped off but either way.

Look like a big ball of fluffy hair now as my hair goes all soft when washed so it looks ghey.

Thanks to those who gave a constructive post and Mr Everready, no hard feelings. Thumbs Up?

Buy some waxy gel stuff. Since a stupid hairdresser 'slipped' when trimming my hair Wella's Shock Waves "Shine" Gloos Gel Wax has been brilliant at preventing my naturally curly hair turning into a 'Jimi' Wink

Didn't have any hard feeling m8, hence the Karma earlier on. I know it's hard getting long hair cut, as I said earlier I've been there and done that and really no one can help, your the only one who knows what you like.

Anyway get the pictures up, and grow a bit of stubble. Thumbs Up Wink

My whole mum's side of the family can't grow stubble, my uncle is fifty and he hasn't ever shaved in his life.

He still has little bits sticking out of his chin.

So do you regret it yet?

Mine was way past may shoulders 2 years ago, I randomly decided to get it ALL chopped off. 2 weeks later I hated myself.

A few years ago my hair was about 8 inches long and curly. Got fed up with it so shaved it off to a zero. It was funny at the time, I was in school, some teachers (and classmates) didn't recognise me.

I'm not growing it long again.

My hair just before I cut it was just over halfway down my back.
