 |

Howdy... This week i've been mostly stripping down my little nc30.
While ordering oodles of parts to make it look alot sweeter !
Found out that rebuilding carbs in the kitchen makes it stinks for days.... So instead of chucking back in the shed, i stuck it in the bathroom which now has a slightly smell of petrol and carb cleaner !!
Also trying to respray forks in freezing wind fecking stupid, cold toes and standing outside with a hairdryer trying to dry it is a bad idea. Even though the forks look 100 times better !
Things bought/borrowed/waiting on /or stolen....
Rear hugger
hrc rear break pipe
hrc coolent bottle
front and rear paddock stands
Gold bar ends
gold lever set
New chain
Polishing kit
etc.....
Over the next two/three weeks....
Fit every thing back together
Carb tune
respray wheels
touch up everything scratched
Polish frame
Rolling road
New tires
and sort out that fecking exhaust !!!!
Plus everything else !!!
Heres some photos so far ! ____________________ Ducati 916,white framed corse replica https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=239309

HRC coolant bottle, that ought to add at least 10bhp! ____________________ British beauty: Triumph Street Triple R; Loony stroker: KR1S; Track fun: GSXR750 L1; Commuter Missile: GSX-S1000F

I think some people on greybike400 put r1 front ends on aswell.
And some swap the brake calipers for cbr ones.
Was thinking of getting a tyga backend, but its alot of money to through at the back end .
I do fancy what some have done by either putting a r6 or cbr600rr tail unit on.
The carbtune thingy i got was off my brother when he changed from a carb vfr750 to an aprillia millia with fuel injection ! Bargin !!!
Any one know what size of scocket is needed for the rear wheel nut ? Its a biggy and i aint got one that big enough !
Time to pop back down halfrauds again !
BTW 10bhp !!! With a double bubble, hrc brake pipe, gay coloured seat that should at least give me another 20 bhp !!! ____________________ Ducati 916,white framed corse replica https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=239309

Cagiva mito tail units really suit the bike. I saw a red/white.blue one with the tail unit painted to match and it looked really nice. Tidier than stock, but still in proportion to the bike.
Hope all goes well

Fitted the hugger today, carbs back on.
Tried getting the top yolk cover off to respray, but the little swine is locked on there solid !!!!!
Still waiting on bits
The red exhaust is now gold !!!! Very tarty !!!
The person/s before me who had the bike done some thing to the frame on one side of the bike which looks like some nasty chemical stuff has eaten into the top coating of the frame.
I knew this when i bought the bike, but thinking i could polish it out.
Tried it to day with the kit, but no joy.Got it looking cleaner but the marks are still on there.
Anyone got photos of a nc30 with a hugger on ? Both sides ?
I'm wondering where to route the brake line too ? ____________________ Ducati 916,white framed corse replica https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=239309

How deep is the mark on the frame? If it's only a couple of millimetres deep, it will polish out. Any deeper and you're up a certain creek without a paddle.

I'll get a photo on here when i can see my bike. Its like under a foot of snow ! Both wheels are off,and up on paddock stands in this bloody weather !
It does kinda look like a close gap if i can remember, but i'm not too keen on that theres a huge "window" to see the chain.
Popped into the local powder coaters after my rear wheel came out shit after me respraying it.(Front and exhaust look good).
Between £60-£80 For the two wheels and other bits (basic flat colour) And the Gold she just said "it will take me a while to work out the price !" ,"But it will be expensive !) Blow that !
Plus those price's dont even include sandblasting !
I'll phone around some more places,if not i'll respray the wheel again. ____________________ Ducati 916,white framed corse replica https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=239309

New pics.....
Chain arrived today,so that will go on the bike on monday.
Still got to do the spark plugs, radiators, fairings, chain, sort out "p" clips for attaching rear brake cable to hugger and balance the carbs.
Hopefully next month i'll have some spare money lying around for a new set of tires !
Just put on new levers, hugger, bar ends resprayed the wheels and can and finally after a year put the braided pipe on the rear brake !
And also resprayed the forks.
Wanted a bronze type gold, but fancied the fiat coupe bronze/gold flip instead. In the shade it looks bronze/brown and in the sun it looks gold.Might grow on me !
Also managed to respray the wheelie bins wheels as well !!!

Im not a fan of your exhaust. Partly because the rivit straps have been painted aswell as the main can material.
Other than that it's looking well and good luck with the rest of your project.

Anodising is a process that builds up a layer of salt onto the metal's surface. With aluminium, they strip the aluminium oxide off, then use the anodising procedure to create a new, thicker layer of oxide.
Wet and dry all the way, finishing with rubbing compound then autosol If you get to a point where your bike simply will not get any shinier, pm craigs23, he is the ultimate polishing whore...
