You dont need the front one, the steering does that for you.
I am well into my 50,s , have just had a heart attack and I can manouver a FZR 1000 or ZXR750 anywhere I want in the garage using just ordinary stands.
The 400s I can do with one hand and my hip.
A child could manouver the rear swivel dolly on an even floor.

I'll get a bit of practice in with my normal rear paddock at the garage the bikes are at when i'm up in Bristol next. Theres an old matress in there I can put down in case it goes tits up

I've always got a hand off someone the times i've had it up on paddocks in the past for fear of it going tumbling to the ground.

Have you thought about sticking a wardrobe in the back of your garage? Then you can just wheel your bike through the portal to Narnia. On the downside, time travels faster in Narnia (a day there is a few minutes here) so your bike will age faster. And you'll need a cover to keep the snow off it.

It does look that way. The most I can imagine -Matt- needing is a paddock stand on castors to swing the back end in, after nosing the bike in.

I'd also suggest hanging a tennis ball from the rafters, so your missus knows where to stop the car. You're welcome.

Sorted out a van tonight for sometime in January, so will shorty know to what extent i've over-worried about the space situation

Expensive bourbells off the Xmas tree can be substituted for tennis balls.

They make loads of noise and mess if she gets it wrong and you know how womenfolk treasure such things; so she may be extra careful.

Turns out the thread was irrelevant as I underestimated the size of the garage fits in fairly comfortably with much back-n-forth turning to get it close to the wall, and still plenty of space to get the car in and door down. can't you just hang something from the roof of the garage that when the front of the car knocks it, you're in?

Something like a bit of rope with a knot on the end to weight it slightly.

wheel chocks then, block of wood bolted to the floor, height of kerb so it stops the wheels, this way you don't damage car body-work

I was planning on drilling a hole through the block and into the floor then putting a metal rod through it to hold it in place, that way I can move them out the way when I want to wheel the bike in and around to position it.
