That a100 looks awesome, gimme a slab of beer, a gallon of premix and an open field and i'll give you a story of how I ran myself over and broke a leg. Laughing

Edit, that is the definition of a fuck around and find out motorcycle. I still have scars from a 70cc monkeybike that are worse than some of my bigger motorbike crashes on large CC stuff cause its so easy to just completely disrespect it and then Karma pops by to say hello.

You can give yourself two broken ankles and a massive groin strain without even leaving the seat.

A friend had an off road trike when they were legal. It was a hoot. A dangerous hoot but still a hoot. How one of us never broke anything I still don't know.

I actually like this Embarassed but I’ll post it here. Interesting way to flog off a collection one at a time -if genuine, -no reserve and bidding starts at £1. Also, what’s going on in image #20?

paint job is shocking but the bike is cool as penguins piss. One of the coolest 125s ever made.

Already at £1000 after just 11 bids. I know you can bid and add a secret higher bid to trump late-comers but you do that near the end of the auction, not early on!

Stylish eh?

A 500cc Piaggio scooter engine means a nice big hole in the middle where you'd expect to see an engine. It's described as a sprint/drag bike... well, that might be some of the slowest drag action you've ever seen as IIRC that motor makes about 40BHP.

The paucity of the power output, on the other hand, could save you from an embarrassing situation when something with more bollocks would very likely snap that piss-poor push iron frame in half.

This massive pile of elephant wank could be yours for just £1200.

Drag scooters are a thing. You can really poke the motors quite heavily and if you can get the variator set up well, they go like a bat out of hell.

They're getting 14s standing quarters out of Lambrettas in straightliners.

My best time on my 492cc 1936 Ariel sprinter was 14.96 over the standing 1/4. Those Italian scooters can fly.

Belt driven, fuel tank at the back and the space at the front is for...? I dunno, a small dog to ride along with you?!

They are called F650CS in europe I think. I thought about buying one for commuting for a while, pretty much ideal for a city commute with a tiny bit of motorway.

There are actually a couple for sale on Gumtree. £1,500 gets you a decent condition runner with 25k on the clock and MOT's until May. Someone loved it.

I am not sold on the look either, but it has been designed with commuting in mind, unlike a lot of modern bikes.

Now that's an actual bobber (conventional geometry with a hard-tail) and looks intelligently constructed. Might even be one of Doghouse Customs builds. There are a few design queues he uses in any case, although maybe not because he likes to use hidden cables.

Some points some bobber makers should note:
A structurally integrated hard-tail sub-frame.

Despite using a pod air filter, they have manufactured a well proportioned inlet tract so the FI system receives laminar flow and proper charge pulses. (In fact, I'd love to do this on my 612 bullet, I always thought it was impossible because mathematically, the pressure waves mean it would need to be out over the rear wheel. I never thought of bending it)

The wiring has been weather-proofed.

It has functional mudguards.

Couple of things I don't like. Styling aside which is a matter of taste.
The two uncovered bolt ends sticking up just in front of your ballsack.

Uncovered battery.

Firestone tyres.

That front concho is going to hit the mudguard.

Typical form over function shite IMO and some of the construction methods are questionable.

It looks like they tacked a barrel nut on to make a 'pusher' rather then a 'puller' type tensioner to me
Ok it has a lock nut, but its clunky at best

What's the point of that rebar hoop at rear?
its ugly and useless and would make cocking your leg over to get on
that stupid fuckin seat even more difficult.

I'm also not convinced the frame mods are fit for purpose
the front lower connection to the frame uses what looks like
a single 8mm bolt Rolling Eyes

The stock bike already had a retro vibe thing going on for it and I can see no improvements in that abomination at all, but definitely some possible safety issues

I don't think the tensioner serves any useful purpose other than as a styling cue because the hardtail has long enough fork-ends to correctly tension the chain. Might reduce intrusive chain snatch when you get on and off the power but it's not mechanically necessary.

The engine is a stressed member, there are frame plates on the lower frame rail which attach to the engine with two long M8 bolts that go right through the engine (you can see it better on the right side view). There is also a vertical seat tube which bolts into the crankcases at the top rear of the engine. Pretty sure the one you're looking at is holding the mounting plate for a samrat kick-stand to the frame.

In any case, it's more secure than what holds a standard iron barrel bullet together. A single M8 bolt through the bottom of the engine:
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AP1GczMHUpbSiR1d-VovLUmPux8pYuoUvDfVMD-CNL61gX13rgBnkPiMnJqDUxzVhuvpYOC6O7v5vbfqWls_kWofpzN5KILI3UKadCau--hPtJ9M63UYNSWzD-wm-4yfy5AmZ814GxdIziOQ87Xx581bfm87=w1168-h876-s-no

Then two M8 bolts on triangular plates which attach to the gearbox, which in turn is bolted to the back of the engine (with 4 x 3/8" BSC studs).
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw/AP1GczP_LA8bTsjB7buln2Et_is7m7RagGyYkJn6BBSEElB_NtOqE4FaUUxihaA-Cs2ghNApVaF51uMRjUGTqxXaGDuIIUvEifMIpnUqtslJS3epY4RoqN9FXU0SUP7p4pVUEQlp-NrxFn9DG2Mwb70qVZ8o=w1168-h876-s-no

And while they have many problems, frames coming apart isn't one of them.
