What i was trying to say is just make sure its road worthy.

To be fair, most of it was in relatation to cleanliness.

Note that 'well cleaned' does not have to equal 'well looked after', though I appreciate it's often the case.

why should i leave road grime all over it so i can look like a 'Road Racer'

My race bike gets the most cleaning of any of my bikes.
Same with most racers.

However, I rarely see properly fast road riders (which I'm not by the way) with clean bikes. Infact, in general I would say the shineyness of a bike increases as speed decreases, from what I've seen.
Not that there's anything wrong with riding slowly, but I definitely respect those that appear to get more joy from cleaning than from riding less (yes, that means you gav Razz ).

My take on the important bits for group riding:

And that's why both my ZZR and my Benelli are nearly always dirty Wink
Well, that's my excuse anyway!

A good guide there McGee. I totally agree with the 'relieve the guy at the front' bit. Whenever we go on a group ride I nearly always end up at the front. It doesn't bother me particularly, however, I find I get tired more quickly due to the increased concentration required to follow a route safely and keep check on those behind me. Thumbs Up
