I WANT to join a gym, to get a new lease of life!!
There is a super dooper state of the art one near me... got a leaflet, sent the email for info... now waiting

I am GOING, going going to DO IT! Ooooh, oh yes. I am

Now, never set foot in a gym before. Now, don't get me wrong, I won't really stand out I spose. I am a size 14... okayish, but I will feel SO out of my depth is it unreal!! I am so SCARED Exclamation Shocked

Is it easy to go into those places and 'blend in'? I mean, I know you get an instructor to start off with to show you stuff, but there will be muscley numpties there, prancing and showing off?

Gym membership tends to be expensive. Why don't you take up cycling or go swimming down your local swimming pool. If you have kids why not play sport with them. Believe it or not you don't need to join a gym to lose weight. I lost 1 and a 1/2 stone when I cycled to work for a month.

Thanks for that Tom...

This gym offers activities for my child too, which look great

I need motivation, cannot do it alone, and I feel that a gym is the way forward

I HATE sport, but my kid loves it.... I think joining somewhere will be good for me, and her

If you do join a gym, get your kid involved as well. That way you can both be happy and motivate each other.

Good luck Very Happy

Yea, i joined my uni gym (bath uni) and its great, im trying to get fit again and mainly focusing on cardio and not doing too much weights at the moment as i wat endurance mussle than bulb mussle.

I think your scared that everyone there will be super fit, they wont though. On friday i went a was on a crosser machine and a girl next to me had been on for 48mins!! Shocked But then 5mins later a fat old man got on the one next to me and started sweating big time after a little bit.

Dont look at it as the people that are super fit are better than you in terms of fitness, use them as your motivation that it is possible for your tone up to a level your happy with so everything is nice and firm and you can run all day.

You wont regreat it and the more you go and more evergy i seem to have Thumbs Up

Yes it's easy to blend in. Gyms are there for everybody to use, and believe me, there'll be all shapes and sizes in there.

and yes you'd normally have an instructor when you first start. It's a health & safety requirement I believe, so that they can show you the proper use of the equipment, and normally to give you advice depending on your requirements or targets.

As for muscley numpties, you'll probably have your fair share of those too, but when it comes down to it they'll probably be spending so much time drooling over their mirrored reflections that they won't even acknowledge your presence.

Go for it - Good luck Thumbs Up
