As you remember, i resprayed my bike a while ago and it ended up looking like this...

https://file010b.bebo.com/large/2006/06/01/01/826963686a974003470b275561253l.jpg

Well, that was a rush job that i spent 48 hours on and didn't bother sanding down properly or other stuff such as putting a lacquer or even using a spraygun to apply the primer.

As a result, a whole summer of being away in Indonesia and it being left in sunny london meant that the paint had bubbled/crazed and flaked off, leaving it worse for wear... I could swear that rattle cans are guaranteed for a 2-3 year finish.

Anyway, my housemate's dad owns an Car garage and has a sprayer on site. So £120 quid later, ( i have no patience), he comes back with some good quality 2 pack stuff that's leaving it really shiny. Got to leave it a week before i can go at it with T-cut to make it look super shiny.

But here are the results.

I've got to put it through it's MOT tomorrow, which is going to cost a bit, because it'll need new pads, new fork seals and some work done with its electricals.

But i'm pleased with the result, which will no doubt increase its resale value.

I agree, tankpad was only 5er quid off e-bay. I needed a contrast, and it said ninja on it lol Wink I like it. and hopefully i won't get the brunt of the minging jokes anymore.

Will have to post pics once its on the bike. But for the time being, i've only put on the front fairing and seat panels for MOT purposes.

Looking good! Used to say it was a 20 foot paint job cos any closer and it looked crap but those pictures look good.

I'll have to get a look when it's all put together, hopefully be down for the christmas ride.

You need to give that tank a polish now too, and get a cover for the bike!

Cheers for the comments. Unfortunately for me, the only good thing about the bike are its looks. It needed new fork seals, as well as that, two new front disks and pads because they had unfortunately warped. I noticed it when it was jarring when i was on the brakes. Either way, whoever owns it next will have a minting bike. I can't wait until my tinted screen comes because THAT WILL look nice.

Once again, i'll post pics once bike has been through its MOT and sorted out a few things or two.

Fairing lowers are in my room waiting to get coaching lines and some more vinyls.

Insurance group.... haha i don't really know. All i know its that it was cheaper to insure than any 600 commuters and SV, so i'm assuming 7/8?

but that don't really matter. If you're 17-18, 1 year NCB, should be paying about 400 quid TPFT depending on location (cos i was paying 300 in lufbra).

I've finally got the fairing lowers T-cut to remove blemmishes in the primer and waiting to polish them at some stage.

I'd hopefully get the bike back today or tomorrow so i can fit the fairings and the new screen.

With a triumphant leap of joy, i have finished fettling with my toy!

I'll get the pics when it's in the morning too

I'd like to thank Billy for getting the bike sprayed. Did a good job of it for the price i paid, and Mucho thanko to Mark from Twigger's motorcycles in Loughborough cos he's a top notch geezer. His wife who works at the shop told me that had an ear to ear grin after testing my bike throught the twisties to get through the MOT, he said it was a stonking 250 and probably one of the best handling bikes he's ever ridden . Rs250, suck my balls! I can ride this bike through winter . No wonder i put lots of money into it. It no longer runs on neglect, but on love Crying or Very sad Laughing How cheesey

Other than the paint job,

it's got new disks and pads to match, as well as a nice LED integrated indicator with the back light, new tinted screen from australia and philips blue vision bulbs. Ace Mr. Green Thumbs Up
